Time with little Sophia ( my niece)
7th March, 2022
A new week rocking again. Happy new week readstars, what a beautiful last week/weekend for me. I wish we all had a beautiful one too. Let the best happen to us this new week I pray.
My weekend was fun starting from Friday I went jogging for the first time since my recovery and going for the stations of the cross which is remarkably done during lent. It has been a good time since as I went visiting my little niece after evening workouts on Saturday. Am really happy I did workout without any effect since my recovery. The feeling of being weak and taking a walk for a while on jogging has stopped. All the distances covered was no walk at all. Thumbs up for sports, thumbs up for me and thumbs up for my friend who has been my workout partner. The body needs us to move it indeed and that why I can say now that I feel so good again.

On Saturday evening, I went to spend a day with my little niece. She's been sick for a while but so sound no now. I spent some time speaking on the phone with them but she said she would want to see me. Little girl making a big request really means something to her. I had to reshuffle my plans and activities to honor her request of seeing me. That's cool but I will love to see her too. She just spoke it out and I have been procrastinating on when to go see them. Probably because of school activities and other engagement.
On Saturday evening, I took a bus and left to see my little angel. When I got there to her place, she has already been waiting for me since morning. Her mom said she has been trying to make a poem with my name and I was like what! little Sophia! awww! I've missed you all day baby. She hugged me and didn't let go for a while, I could feel her slow heartbeat as I whispered her name and gave her a cuddle. The bond I wish should last forever. She used to sleep early as a little girl she is, but on Saturday, she slept late despite taking her drugs early. Me , together with her mom fed her dinner as she would eat from me and from her mom too. She looks so adorable trying to tell me how much she's been missing on me even when I wasn't getting all she was trying to say. I gave her the small gift I had for her and she was happy to wear the bead around her hand. She rolled it up higher on her arm to get a firm grip. She just smiled and loved it.
When I asked her mother what happened, why she's been sick for a while. Her mother said it because she's growing teeth for the first time. What! growing teeth now has effect on kids? I asked with curiosity; She said yes, that the doctor told her that she was all okay but her fever was due to the new teething. Wow! I just heard that for the first time and I was wondering how possible. Why didn't all other kids I know fell sick during teething. Aunt then told me that it doesn't happen to everyone. Could it be hereditary or by gene? because I still am confused about the fact that teething could cause fever.
This time around, little Sophia was already asleep and was still looking cute in her sleep. I walked up to her to see the new teeth that has caused my sweetheart to be on bitter pills, wow! so tender and sparkling. They look cute but why do they have to place her on pills instead of pizza? let's blame on nature, for nature took its course and only it hath the answer. What matters most to me now is that she's getting good and beautiful better.
But still come to think of it, teething causing fever. Not just fever, she was taken to the hospital makes me wonder how till now. It happened already but I still need to be clear on that matters.
The next day will be Sunday and I will be leaving at noon just before evening. I know Sophia wouldn't like that idea of mine but I wouldn't dare let her know all my plans. I kissed her goodnight and her mom took her to bed. Little Sophia made my day all through a d I wanted to prepare her a local dish my mom taught me. It. gonna be her Sunday delicacy I promised before going to bed.
On Sunday morning, I woke up before her and made her a delicious dish (Abacha)
made from sliced cassava. It doesn't take long to prepare. Should have been her lunch but I made it in the morning and we all enjoyed it. She loved the dish and it made her day. After going to church, I began to get my bags ready but she playfully helped me to do that. She must have no idea what I am planning to do.We played together and I extended my leaving from afternoon after lunch to evening. I just wanted to spend more time with her.So lovely but at evening, I had to go as they drove me to the bus station. She waved me goodbye slowly and I read her body language. "bye baby, I love you" I said to her giving her a can drink I already got for her. She took the drink and was happy and this time around, waved fastly at me with her words which means goodbye. I then took a bus a d had a successful journey back to school.
I was so happy and felt even stronger when I got back. I quickly put a phone call and spoke with her mom and she was doing good but sleeping according to her mom.
Thanks for reading dearies! that was how I spent my weekend and it was lovely to me. I wish you all a happy Monday and a blissful new week in good health.
