Youths can make a difference.
I couldn't get my mind off the attacks on cryptocurrency by the world leaders from different countries after reading a post by @JustMyRambles01 on noise cash about the US President intending to issue an executive order on cryptocurrency this week.
I started wondering why they are so keen on containing the growth and applications of cryptocurrency in the world where the masses are craving for financial freedom from the government, banks, and other governmental agencies.
The impact of cryptocurrency in the world has been massive since its acceptance by the masses and it has been giving the government lots of worries, have you ever imagined what the world would look like if cryptocurrency becomes a legal tender globally?
Having control over our finance is one of the tactics government has been able to suppress and even render its citizens powerless. In October 2020, lots of Nigerian youths came out to fight for their rights, it was a protest that went on for days, and donations were made by people for support to keep the tempo of the protest high but the government cornered them by freezing the accounts where the donations were made into.
In the end, they opted in for crypto and things went smoothly since the government had no power over their crypto wallet but they eventually has issues when it was exchanged for fiat, they were still able to track payments made by crypto exchange companies which led to the ban of crypto operation in Nigeria.
If they could use the crypto to purchase their needs directly, the government would have completely been powerless over their finance before the massacre that claimed the lives of many Nigerian youths but the peer-to-peer feature in purchasing and selling cryptocurrency gave the youth a hope that made Nigeria one of the countries with huge crypto transactions every day.
Seeing the obsession of these old men on banning cryptocurrency is weird, they would go at any length to make it centralized and it looks like people at that age are scared of losing the ancient system of how the world is run, they are certainly scared of the changes cryptocurrency will bring to the world. They believe that crypto would make them lose the grip they have held the people with and they might eventually become irrelevant.
This made me conclude that the youths can make a huge difference if allowed to be part of the government.
It would do the world lots of good if people with youthful hearts are given relevant positions in government globally. I would use Nayib Bukele as an example, the president of El Salvador who is one of the young people we have leading a country. He is just 40 years of age and the first president to legalize the use of Bitcoin as a legal tender in the world, I believe he made the decision because he has an insight into the future, unlike our old men who don't want to lose the ancient government tradition that failed and kept the world at war for a long time.
Even though he made a wrong choice of choosing Bitcoin that doesn't in any way support peer-to-peer transactions, he took a bold step in legalizing crypto. It would have done the whole of El Salvador a lot of good if he has chosen Bitcoin Cash which is the original Bitcoin, the citizens would have been able to perform unlimited peer-to-peer transactions with the cheapest transaction fee in the crypto-verse at a super speed.
Having a youthful mind doesn't necessarily mean you have to be young physically, it means you are open to new ideas, innovations that can bring growth and development to you and the people around you.
According to Forbes, the youths have been the most users of cryptocurrency in the US and it is the same globally, only 3% of people we prefer to choose as leaders have anything to do with cryptocurrency. How would you expect them to embrace it when they have the wrong perspective about it?
A leader with a youth heart will be concerned about the future of the country, they want peace and don't brag about bringing other countries down with nuclear weapons.
They worry more about employment, tackling inflation, and not working themselves upon restricting the use of crypto when they can't even guarantee the people's safety as crime and terrorism crawl around in the country.
I know some young leaders have failed, trust me when I say that being a youth doesn't guarantee having the heart of a youth. Some youths behave like these old men and there are old men with the heart of a youth. Some of these young people's governments were infiltrated by these old men's legacy, they put some of those youth in power while they run things underground and this leaves us with the task of knowing who we are giving the power to lead us.
The Nigerian youths can't be left aside talking about crypto, it has created countless opportunities for them and changed lives. They are joining the crypto-verse in thousands daily despite the ban, isn't that enough to make their government realize that crypto is the future?
As it stands, the Nigeria election is approaching and the strongest Candidates are 69 and 75 years of age. I feel concerned about what action they will further take on the ban of cryptocurrency in Nigeria.
Globally, our leaders can only try. Their decisions can have a great impact on the price market/value but they can't erase the great impact of crypto in our hearts.

•Please note that this article was written to express my opinion about the impact the youths can make if allowed to hold important positions in their respective countries.
The world governments are scared of crypto because it's something that's making waves but they can't seem to get it under their control, coz I see no other reason why they will be against crypto. They are doing it because they can't regulate it and benefit from it
