Life teaches the best knowledge.
While growing up, we were taught that knowledge is power and it didn't take time before I realized that the impact of knowledge on every individual is huge. We are all products of what we have learned since the knowledge we have acquired definitely influences a lot of things about us.
Knowledge is acquired through learning and it doesn't have to just be through formal education. We were made to see formal education as the biggest form of knowledge and that was one of the reasons why I didn't allow any form of distraction all through my secondary education not knowing that the knowledge needed in life are beyond the four corners of a classroom wall.
The knowledge acquired from education can't be overlooked and in fact, it is very important but it still isn't the most important knowledge to me.
I agree with the saying that life is the best teacher any human can have because every lesson it teaches you remains relevant for as long as you live. As a teenager, I didn't understand much about life but somehow, it taught me everything I need to know. It didn't stop then and I haven't stopped learning either.
I have used myself as an illustration many times and I will like to use my story again to make my point clearer.
My first lesson from life came after my secondary education, I had the picture of what I wanted to become in my head and I was unstoppable. I had my life planned already, it was perfect because things went as planned until 2009 when life made me realize that not everything goes as planned in life.
My dream was to be a pilot but I couldn't even get close to it because of financial reasons, my mom couldn't afford the regular universities not to mention an aviation school.
I was down for some time because I couldn't imagine things going badly for me, I was bitter and until I learned the lesson life was teaching me, I didn't make progress.
Life taught me not to rely on humans because we are unpredictable, it is easier for humans to say "I will" now and change it later.
Life taught me to work for everything I want to become and that made me go in search of a job a few months after graduation, it was hard getting a job at the age of 14 but I eventually got one as an assistant teacher.
The goal was to save up and return to school, I was stuck with the job for three years and the dream to further my education became unrealistic.
My earning was small but I was okay with it because the job wasn't challenging and one day, I said to myself that I would remain stagnant if I don't take a bold step about the job.
Life taught me that I must step out of my comfort zone if I want to move forward so I quit the job and searched for a new one. I got a stressful job but it helped me achieve my dream of returning to school. Another thing that I learned there was that nothing good comes easy in life.
Life taught me to be humble and good to people and it paid off, I met people who supported me all through my time in higher institution.
I had challenges and people I don't even know came through for me, Life at that point taught me to always love and spread happiness as much as I can, and I learned to always help as long as I am in the position to do so.
My journey through life has deepened my understanding of love, life taught me that love is what we need to make the world a better place.
Abiding by the lessons of life guided my path to crypto blogging and it has helped me achieve a lot of things I didn't see myself doing anytime soon.
If everything has worked through as I planned when I was 14, I wouldn't have understood that delay is not denial, I wouldn't have understood that hitting a roadblock in life isn't the end of the journey and I am glad life taught me the lessons.
The knowledge of Education and Life are two different things, we need to create a balance between them as an individual. This might not make much sense but it is something we all need to ponder on.
With the knowledge I have acquired from life, the love for humanity matters to me. I am enjoying a lot of things with the knowledge I have acquired from education but I wouldn't be here if I haven't taken life lessons seriously, it has guided my path so far and I won't be doing away with those knowledge any time soon.
Education is beyond the four wall corners of a classroom and life is always ready to teach us in the best and hard way. We have to learn from life if we must succeed and escape from a life of mediocrity we never wanted.
If we do not plan our lives with the lessons from life, it will plan for us in the most unexpected ways.
