Against all the odds.

She came from a well-to-do family. Her family owns a huge farm with various high yielding crops both for export and local market. Him on the other hand is a laborer. Working odd jobs to survive his daily needs. They met and fell inlove despite the differences.

She was young then. Carefree and wild. She will do anything and everything for love. Born with a silver spoon, she gets whatever she wants in life. Him was working from dawn to sundown to make ends meet. He was contented for whatever life would serve him on his table. He was happy despite of being poor.

They fell inlove. They were both happy. She accepted him and loved him unconditionally. She left her parents for him and moved in to his place. He was doing everything to provide for her. To make her life a bit comfortable because she wasn't used to it. They were happy living together. Young love and the joy it brings. Love conquers everything and so they believed.

A few months later, she got pregnant. The once happy home they made started to break down. The fear of not getting the best for her child haunted her thoughts. The life she was in wasn't the life she dreamed off. Reality hit her hard. He assured her that he'll be there for him always. That he will do his best for their family.

A baby was born.

The life they had was not easy but they were looking forward to the day their baby will be born. Everyday was seemed magical for them. They prepared the things needed for the delivery. On the day the baby was born, the joy and excitement were replaced by tears. She held her son in her arms. A deformity on the baby’s mouth. Tears streaming down her cheeks. Her past mistakes and sins flooded her thoughts. Her baby doesn’t deserve such fate.

They were discharged and started to care for the baby. The baby cannot properly drink the milk. He kept on crying day and night until he finally adapted his new environment. She was happy despite the hardships and the condition of the baby. They named the baby as Jhon.

When the baby started to walk and celebrated his second birthday, he got the deformity fixed with the help of organizations. She was happy as she made her peace with her parents. She together with the baby and her husband were welcomed at her parent’s home. They lived there and in few years, her parents arranged their wedding. They had another son after five years.

Betrayals.

All was getting well. The kids are now at their teenage years. She was a silent mother and wife. She stays at home taking care of the family and tending her small business. Him was still working hard everyday to give his family a life they deserve. One day she decided to get a job as a real estate agent. She had to groom up herself. Her physical appearance improved. The way she dress herself and how she fix her face were all new to the husband. Months had passed and the troubles started. She was coming home late at night or will be gone for days without any explanation. She even got a tattoo of a butterfly on her arm that symbolizes change. She no longer hold him or make sweet gestures in the public. All along the husband knew what was happening but was just silent about it. He wanted to protect his family from shame. He confronted her one day but she only told him that she was just doing her job to provide and help the family. He cried for he knew it was all a lie. He fought for his family. He confronted the other man. He is a cop and a dangerous one. Things got heated up between the three of them. In result, he left her and brought along with him their first born son. They went to his parent’s home. He started a new life with his son. He put up a business which started to expand. He dreamed of working in abroad. He wanted to provide the best for his son. The life they have is far more different from what used to be. They were happy and contented.

The secret plan.

The wife had her way to be with his new found love. An illicit relationship. Her life is now driven with lust and selfish desire. She is happy with the freedom she found.

One night at around 11:00pm, the husband had an accident. He fought for his life until his last breath. According to an eyewitness, the husband was drunk and riding a motorbike. He crashed on a post. The eyewitness said that he was speeding and his body flew 50 meters from the crash site. They just let the body lay on the ground for two hours until an ambulance came and brought him for immediate care. He didn’t had any bruises and fractures. He was unconscious for days on the hospital bed until he succumb to eternal sleep.

His son, was in the hospital premises for days. Waiting for his father’s recovery. He was heartbroken when they said that he is gone. He cried. He loves his father more than any other person he knows of.

The body was examined and they saw a bruise and a lump under his ear. A shape of a hammer they say. His motorbike doesn’t have any major defect after the crash. There is only one eyewitness to the accident that happened and he wasn't a credible person.

The truth.

An information had leaked about what really transpired that night. It wasn't an accident but a crime of passion. He was force to left his family because he was scared for his life. It was all planned. He knew that he'll be killed or arrested for a crime regarding drugs. The other man is a cop and he can do and manipulate things for his advantage. It was a perfect crime. It looked like an accident, they made it looked at that way. There were six people involved in the crime. She knew it and yet she had the audacity to go to the funeral and shed tears. She even made emotional posts and comments on her social media account. Days after his remains was laid to his final resting place, she started to go out with friends. She was seen on a cctv footage with the man, they were shopping! As for the kids, she bought brand new things for them to cover up her shame. She laughs like she never lost him. She is free now. Free to do the illicit relationship she have with a married man.

We, the people who knew what really happened can't do anything because we are afraid. We are scared of what they might do to us. I know somewhere up there someone is watching and counting the sins they have committed. Justice will prevail in the right time and place.
