A Selfish Individual Is More Harmful Than A Miser

SELFISHNESS

Selfishness is the extreme desire for wealth or possession, and it can drive someone to do anything to achieve their goals

Selfish people care about themselves alone, they are experts in manipulation and they never get satisfied.They always want more.

A Miser

Meanwhile, a stingy individual or a miser is simply the inability of someone to spend money.A stingy person finds it difficult to spend money on another person, even on himself. 

A stingy person lacks generosity, and will turn down a great pleasure or social gathering. 

Sometimes stingy people lose some opportunities because they feel reluctant to spend money on important things. They don't want their money to be reduced.

When I was an undergraduate, I had a friend who could fast for several hours each week. His parents frequently sent him money. But to save money, he decided to fast.

Even though he was able to save some money at the time, his physical appearance is not fantastic. He lost physical strength and grew skinny.

We contributed to a social gathering and then visited Ikogosi warm spring, a place where warm water and cold water meet in the southwest area of Nigeria.

We contributed a low amount of money, just like $1 then.

Only two people were left behind them, my friend was among them. The other lady was not interested, but my friend said it was a waste of money.

The trip was lovely and we met a notable member of the house of assembly with his friends there. He played with us and paid for our transportation fare. 

We were even given connections to the state house and some are still beneficiaries of the connections to date.

Let's Take A Look At Greedy Individuals

Even if it involves hurting someone else, greedy people will always seek more for themselves because they honestly believe they deserve it. They also have no intention of sharing their resources with anyone. When greed overtakes a person, they may resort to dishonesty, fraud, embezzlement of public funds, etc. to pursue their interests.

 A greedy individual can kill another person, just to have the person's wealth or to acquire power from such a person. 

The greediness of African leaders is the reason why African countries are lacking behind.

African leaders are full of manipulation, deceit and unethical behaviours. Someone will rule for many years without creating jobs for the citizens, no social amenities, and no good roads. They are supposed to resign and allow a better candidate to rule, but still, they would refuse to resign and leave the position.

Some would even attack the opposition person and they would end their ambition by force. They would borrow a lot of money from foreign countries. They would embezzle the money and share it among themselves.

The money that was supposed to develop their countries will be used to enrich their pockets. Their 5th generation cannot spend all the money and investment they have possessed. This is a greedy act.

Greedy acts are the reason why we have substandard buildings and road projects in our communities. Storey buildings collapse often because the ministry in charge has collected huge amounts of money from the developers. 

Some will erect filling stations in the residential areas, they don't care about the safety of others. The physical planning will approve it because they have collected a large amount from the owner and they are only concerned about themselves.

Both greed and stinginess can be harmful in their own manner, greed can be more harmful due to its emphasis on getting wealth at the expense of ethical and moral behaviour. It may influence individuals to take actions against their best interests and harm those around them.
