Stop chasing perfection, you can't get anywhere with it

The desire to attain a life of perfection has been a misguided belief in our world, leading many people down the wrong path. It has made people place value on the wrong things and priorities. It has made many fail to listen to their true selves for fear that they wouldn't measure up in the eyes of others. I felt curious seeing that the idea of perfection and the quest to be a perfect person is only effort leading to no end. The hurts, betrayal, and hatred that have become so pervasive in our society today are mostly due to the quest for perfection. Trying to live in a way so to receive others' acceptance can be hurtful when you can't measure up. It brings self-condemnation, envy, and segregation among people. Also, it has consigned many individuals to self-imprisonment and regrets. Seeking perfection from others or trying to be one yourself can lead to a hurtful experience in most cases.

No one is perfect. It’s a fact! We all have weaknesses and shortcomings. This does not mean we should not strive to do our best. In fact, striving for excellence is a worthy endeavor. However, the need to be perfect is a major source of stress, unhappiness, and depression. It makes people cold-hearted and coldly critical of others. If you seek perfection from yourself or from others, you end up feeling self-condemned, depressed, and alone. So if you perceive your life as a piece of art, you should accept that your life is a work in progress and always will be a work in progress.

No one is perfect, including celebrities. They are celebrities for a reason, i.e., they are admired by some people. When some people consider others to be perfect, they can be hurt by what they see as their own failure to measure up. This desire to measure up can bring on self-condemnation, envy, and discrimination against those who are considered to be imperfect. Imperfection has been used as a basis for denying rights to people.

As humans, we are all born with unique characteristics, and until we learn to embrace this uniqueness we cannot find true happiness in this life. It is not a mistake that we are called human beings, an indication that we have to evolve and develop to be the best version of ourselves. And even that your best version can be an undoing to another fellow human. Your strength can be another man's weakness, the same way your weakness is another man's strength. The color of the skin doesn't make anyone more perfect for living than another, it's all to chances that we got our pigmentation. Seeking perfection in this world entails you have to hate yourself and try to live like others so to gain acceptance, you have to hide your true self-identity while living a false life. But the truth is that no matter how we try we can never attain perfection in the eyes of those we want to please.

There is a lesson I have learned from the towel used for drying the body after bathing. This lesson opens my eyes to see how fruitless our efforts are to gain perfection in the eyes of the world. I observed that no matter how long we spent bathing ourself the towel will still get dirty. I wonder where the dirt came from, even after we have used the best deodorant and enough clean water for bathing, yet the clean towel still gets dirty after a few days. What this implies is that if we were really that washed clean the towel wouldn't have been dirty and there wouldn't be a need to keep washing it for it to be of good use continuously. No matter how we tried to present ourselves perfectly before the world, the towel of this life will one day expose our dirtiness. There is no perfection in this life. It has never been and will never be. But the good news is that we can find freedom and happiness to live with our imperfections, stop pursuing imaginary perfect life, chasing a perfect job, perfect spouse, perfect skin, or perfect house. We can find the freedom to live the best of our lives in the truest of our identities among our families and friends.

It will do us well to realize that perfection is beyond this world, the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can start living better and enjoy our coexistence amid our imperfections. And ultimately, we can enjoy life to the fullest, finding joy and happiness in the things that we do. Those with defects can find contentment and happiness in their imperfections. And when we stop chasing perfection and accept our weakness, we can relate with one another in our weakness without the fear of being victimized. It is in our weakness that we find true friends that share commonalities with us. Striving to be perfect can turn us into proud individuals such that even when we need help it becomes very difficult for us to ask for one. Accepting our imperfections can replace our pride with humility, that we can truly admit our needs and get help for them.

When we do not accept our imperfection, we often try to control everything and everyone around us. We can easily let pride turn us into selfishness and run us away from asking for help whenever we badly need it. It is very important that we learn to recognize and accept that we are not perfect and that we need help on certain occasions. When we want to change, we can change by first accepting that we do not have control over people and situations all the time. Instead of trying to change people and control situations, we can change our way of thinking such that we learn to accept the fact that not everything is perfect and some things are beyond our ability to control.

The truest way to develop as a human is through imperfections. We make mistakes, yeah we rise and fall, we experience disappointment and betrayals. All these are because we are imperfect humans. Rather than let these experiences define our present we simply let them be our school teachers by learning from them. This process of learning is what makes us human beings and we can faithfully work together to make the world a better place as we appreciate the good things we see around us. The mountains' tops are high because the valleys are low. Sorrow is the mother of joy as imperfections are the mother of beauty to the good in heart. And because we now know that there is no perfection in this life, we can find greater joy even in a little moment of victory.

Yeah you're right, no one is perfect, and we can never attain perfection , an agade says " Aki'n mo n rin, ki Ori maa ji" meaning (there's no way we can be perfect in walking that will make our head not to shake while walking )

But in all this, we can always try to walk through perfection. Though at times walking towards perfection is good, but in the process of doing this, we should have it in mind that it might work out and vice versa, and the most important thing is to avoid unhealthy competition while walking towards perfection, trying out best and being our ourselves will be as good as perfect... hehehehe 😆

I do not agree with your submission, There is no perfection in this world except what you can be that is unique to you. Seeking perfection in the eyes of the world only brings sorrow and regrets.

Most times in our quest for perfection we miss so many opportunities. There is no perfect time to start, there is only a "best time" which is "Now"

Let's accept the fact that no one is perfect, no matter how hard we try and give our best we can't be perfect. But let's all think that even Though trying your hard doesn't make you perfect it will make you better from before. Our flaws make us unique, and that excite our life

That's how life is, and it's what motivates us the more.

No human can ever be perfect. It's a fact that everyone needs to admit. That is why people go extra mile seeking perfect, but they end up becoming nothing.

No one was created to be perfect, we are bound to make mistakes in life. We can only try to be a better person than yesterday but we are definitely never close to perfection in life.
