The benefits of apples for our health
Good afternoon friends, this is an article that I made for the 3rd time on this platform, hopefully in the future I can make interesting articles like people on this platform.
This afternoon I want to make an article entitled "The Benefits of Apples for Our Body's Health".
Apples are one of the fresh fruits that contain lots of water and contain lots of vitamin C, Vitamin C is one of the vitamins that is believed to be healthy for the skin, for people who often do activities outside of apples, it is a solution that can make their skin glow. healthy without having to take medicine for our skin, healthy skin is the skin we want throughout our lives, if our skin is healthy then in carrying out daily activities, we also do it with more confidence, because we have beautiful skin.
The benefits of apples for the health of our bodies are as follows :
1. Supports heart health
Apples are useful for supporting heart health.Apples are a source of polyphenols and fiber, according to Athanasios Koutsos, et al. in the journal "Nutrition". Research has identified apples as a lower risk of chronic disease, such as heart disease.
Another study presented in Experimental Biology 2011 revealed that eating one or two apples a day can reduce risk factors for heart disease, because apples are rich in pectin which inhibits the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines.
2. Contains antioxidants
Apples are rich in polyphenols. According to research in the journal "Antioxidants" by Josephine Kschonsek, et al., polyphenols are antioxidants in apples that support human health because they function to ward off free radicals.
Polyphenols prevent or reverse cellular damage caused by aging, environment, and lifestyle. Over time, this damage can increase the risk of chronic disease.
3. Help lose weight
The benefits of apples for weight loss lie in their high fiber content. According to a study in the journal "Appetite" by Julie E.Flood-Obbagy, et al., eating an apple before a meal helps people reduce their calorie intake by up to 15%.
Due to their high fiber content, apples make you feel full longer. Although low in calories, apples still make the body full and energized for hours.
4. Lowers cholesterol and blood pressure
The benefits of apples for lowering cholesterol and blood pressure have been proven.
"Research has shown an association between apple consumption and a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, which may be related to the cholesterol-lowering benefits of the soluble fiber found in apples," says nutritionist Sarah Gold Anzlovar.
According to a University of Illinois publication, soluble fiber helps prevent cholesterol buildup in the lining of blood vessel walls, thereby reducing the incidence of atherosclerosis (restriction of blood flow in the arteries due to plaque buildup) and heart disease.
Furthermore, a study published in February 2020 in “The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition” revealed that eating two apples a day helped study participants lower their levels of LDL cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol) and triglycerides.
5. Aids digestion
As previously explained, apples are rich in soluble fiber. From the Harvard Health Publishing publication, fiber intake is important to help digestion. Soluble fiber helps slow digestion, makes you feel full, and also slows down the digestion of glucose.
As a result, soluble fiber helps control blood sugar. In the digestive system, soluble fiber attaches to cholesterol particles and removes them from the body, thereby helping to reduce overall cholesterol levels and the risk of heart disease.
6. Boost immunity
The content of soluble fiber in apples has benefits for increasing immunity. Referring to the research "Brain, Behavior, and Immunity Volume 24, Issue 4", this study used animal subjects who consumed soluble fiber.
Studies show that soluble fiber helps convert pro-inflammatory immune cells to anti-inflammatory and boost immunity.
Vitamin C in apples can also play a role in immunity. A review published in November 2017 in the journal "Nutrients" found that vitamin C helps the immune system function by strengthening the epithelial barrier (a type of tissue) against pathogens and protecting the body from oxidative stress.
Thank you for those of you who have read my article, I hope my article can be useful for you.
It's been long I ate apple. I love the green ones more than the red ones. It embodies lots if great benefits.
