You're 18 now, what next?
The laws in this article is applicable to only 1 country.
When I was a kid, whenever my dad and I are walking around our community just for a stroll, I see some thugs smoking and drinking then I'll be like "didn't their parents see them when they were turning this way, didn't they caution them against bad friends" I always put all the blame on their parents but now I think I've realized something.
As a kid celebrates his birthday every year, he's growing up and aging and he's having to face his life alone gradually. You can never hear a 1 year old baby say he's 1 year young, he's 1 year old meaning he's aging and growing old.
When you clock 16, you celebrate your sweet 16 not knowing you're going to another age where whatever decision you take will affect you for the rest of your human life. If you commit any offence at the age of 16, you can still be pardoned and just be taken to a remand home for you to seek redress, this is also applicable to the age 17.
Now you're 18, what next is in line for you? At this age 18, you have become a full fledged citizen of the country and you're no longer restricted to some certain human rights, at age 18, you can now vote whoever you want as your president, you can now take part in politics, you have access to all the human right, good right? What a wonderful thing it is to be in age 18.
In life there's a saying that " in every good, there's always a bad and vice versa"
It is in this same age 18 that you have to make decisions on how you have to live your life and the decisions you make will affect your life either in a good way or in a bad way and this effect will be for eternity. Your parents won't decide what you'll put on to any occasion because they feel you're now of age to think and know what's best for you, this same age is where you'll begin to think on what business can you do to bring profit because you won't want to be a burden to your parents any longer since you're a big boy now
This same age is when you'll be able to be imprisoned for whatever wrong you commit, you won't be taken to a remand home because the law states that and you should have known the law by 18. So when you're about to clock 18, you should have thought about what next you're going to do with your life to make it a successful life or the opposite
Now I know why those thugs smoke and drink irresponsibly, it's not the fault of their parents, but the decision they took when they were aging. Sure their parents should have cautioned them, but there's nothing they can do anymore because they are now of age to take and know the right decision for their life.
Anyway it's my birthday tomorrow so I thought of writing something about it.
Nice write up, this is what the youth of most country face, for someone that the decision has always been made by their parent will find it hard to make decision themselves, nice write up once again.. Happy birthday in advance to you .
