Helping People
It takes generosity to help others. Going out of your way for others is not such an easy thing to do but it is worth it. We tend to like people that are nice or people that do things freely what you as a person would not do.
Just like the saying goes 'you reap what you sow', that is how life is. Whatever thing you are doing now will later tell in the future, So is helping others.
The truth is we will always have needs and wants and it will look as if the money won't be enough for you but still give. Give that smile, compliment, gift, call and those little things you think do not count.
But what if I don't have, can I borrow the person? You may ask. If you feel the person will return your money, why not?
But don't misinterpret this. Remember, it's love your neighbour as yourself and not more than yourself. Don't do things you will later regret.
Help the Right People
Here in Nigeria, we have quite a number of beggars on the street. I don't know about you, but, as for me if you have two hands, two legs, you can see, speak and hear, I believe you are okay and should not be begging. Therefore, don't expect any form of pity from me. I have been hearing stories about rich beggars these days. I heard of a man that now own a duplex (a well furnished one) still he begs on the street. He leaves his neighborhood and goes to another where he can't be easily recognized to beg for money. Just imagine this. Some beggars are actually richer than you! Or perhaps you have heard about the type that pretend to be blind or that lie about a disease that they are facing. This is just so uncalled for.
In my own opinion, I would suggest that you help people you know around you that are going through a lot. That friend, neighbour, just try to do something. That your friend that has just a bag while you have a bag for each shoe, why don't you assist such friend. That clothes that looks old-fashioned to you is someone else's Christmas cloth.People that will appreciate it not to the greedy ones that pretend to be what they are not.
The thing about giving is that the reward might not be immediate. Don't expect the same person you helped to help you in return. Don't give with the motive of receiving.
Everybody feels happy when helped. It helps to lighten people's mood. You bring out the smile in them.
Thanks for dropping by today. I hope you will keep helping those in need. Remember to like, subscribe, comment and tip.
Thanks to @Talecharm for the sponsorship and to @therandomrewarder even though the tips I've been getting these days have reduced still, thank you. And to everyone else, thank you as well.
Random act of kindness is voluntary and at times, we don't choose whom we help but just like you mentioned, we need to give a thought of who we are trying to help. I've also read about those millionaire beggars :D
