Why I supported Trump in 2015

There has been claims and counter-claims in a lot of quarters as to why Donald J. Trump was the worst of two bad choices for Americans. While some believe Americans were outrightly stupid for voting Trump, some others believe he was a better option to Hillary. I was of the opinion that with Trump and Clinton on the cards, Americans were sandwiched between the devil and the deep blue sea. But I preferred Trump all the same! People thought I was stupid, but I had my reasons!

1. The world needs an American President right now, who is stupidly blunt and can for once in the life of America, say the truth to the world. We all have seen the hands of America behind conflicts in Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Iraq and a lot of other nations. This is a country that causes divisions in other countries and pretends as if they are problem solvers. For once, the world needs a President who is stupid enough not to be able to plot conspiracies that unsettle global peace.

2. America itself needs a President who is not from any institution. Institutions in America represents some crass decadence in societal morals and norms. Corrupt bailouts to financial institutions, corrupt political maneuvers etc...that country is at the time when a President who rode on the will of the people only is the best option for them.

3. The world at this time needs an American President who is more interested in Homeland America than the devilish intrusion of other country's privacy that America has become notorious for.

4. Clinton represented an America that believed in the freedom of every man, under the supervision of America. You are free when we say you are...you are not when we say you are not! Trump represents an America that bothers more about itself than the freedom of any man! Be free if you like, we will watch over our own freedom.... Trump's stand made more sense to me!

5. Clinton would have been a President who would continue giving Africans the toxic aid packages that have helped our leaders maintain their insensitivity and ignorance. They give us little grants, our leaders embezzle the funds; they run back to beg for more, America gives more and we keep being in servitude. Instead of finding complete solutions to our nagging problems, we are busy begging for crumbs. I see Trump snubbing most African leaders....when they can't get help, they will solve their own problems. I prefer this sort of President.

6. In Trump I see more prosperity for the global economy. Trump is no politician; he has no political gimmicks up his sleeve. He is a businessman and that means, his approach to leading the US will be that of opening up new business frontiers so Americans can prosper. He will be a core Capitalist President and that is good for the world. He pledged to battle China dominance of the global market....that will mean opening up factories in the US, strengthening bilateral trade relations (instead of arms and ammunitions relations) and re-entering the global market with renewed force. If America battles China (that is already providing cheap solutions) for market dominance, what do you think will happen to the global market? More deals from both ends; more prosperity for global market players! This is an opportunity for even a little boy like me. All in all, no matter how bad a President Donald Trump looks like he will become, when sandwiched between the devil and the deep blue sea, I will rather trust God and jump into the sea....afterall, when the Israelites trusted Him and ran from Pharaoh into the sea, He parted the red sea for them! If He could do it then, he'd do it again now....Trump will be a better President than everybody ever expected him to be!

But now in 2020 a lot have changed, let's watch an see how it will end.

I admire your honesty with this post. Personally I am anti-Trump but I can appreciate the point about Trump being less interventionist on the world stage. Did the Trump presidency live up to your hopes and expectations? And what are your feelings about Trump vs Biden?
