1. Whether to stay and when to go, they know. Effective individuals know precisely when they can change jobs, start a business or fold their business. Despite competing powers, they have strong instincts and are not afraid to make tough choices.
2. More than what is asked of them, they do. They see their job descriptions as just the beginning of what their job is capable of doing. They will still ask you to take on more assignments that challenge them after they have completed their mandatory tasks. In order to be a team player, they are also able to take on the tedious work that no one else wants to do.
3. In order to ultimately succeed, they are willing to fail. All successful individuals know it's not easy and they're expected to fail more than they're going to excel in something. They are able to learn from any mistake, as it will help them make better choices that will lead to later success. Although many individuals give up after anything fails, a good individual would persevere.
4. They know they're making a fortune of their own. Luck is obtained over time from hard work and preparing yourself for achievement. You're not going to get lucky at random, and successful people know that. Every single day, they will do at least one thing to put themselves in a better place to get lucky and then use that luck to develop.
5. They set real targets they will achieve. Effective individuals wake up and they have already arranged their day, while ineffective individuals fail to find out what to do next. Their targets are highly concentrated, broad, but achievable and aligned with their strengths. They know what they are capable of and all their energies will be spent in it, avoiding their weaknesses.
6. They accept responsibility for themselves and their actions. In order to get the job done, they do not depend on other people. Instead, they look inward and try, while exploiting their existing assets, to find the solutions. They own up to it if they make a mistake and quickly think of how they can change next time, not make the same mistake twice.
7. Instead of being influenced by it, they make change. In order to be influenced by economic developments, successful people are not sitting around. They are the ones who create patterns and make things happen.
8. They are able to adapt to industry shifts. Successful individuals are able to reinvent themselves in the business environment to remain important. They realize that you'll be left behind if you sit stagnant and ignore trends. They continually come up with fresh ideas, look for the next big trend and learn new skills.
9. They can effectively express their narrative. If you walk up to a successful individual and ask them what they are doing, they will be able to concisely tell you all. They know who they are, what they're doing, and they can make you trust them. They have a good posture and are very confident and convincing.
10. The people who can give the best answers are asked the right questions. By tapping their networks, effective individuals realize they need to solve problems. They are not afraid that the only person who can answer their questions will be contacted or called. With the right questions, they are always prepared and are always able to help the other person out in return.
11. They are learners of a lifetime who drive themselves out of their comfort zones. Although most people assume that they are done as a student when they graduate from college, successful people remain students. They are always learning and discovering new things. They're not afraid of trying and failing to do new things.
12. They know who they are, and in the world, their location. Good individuals are optimistic and can lead themselves and others as well. They have a vision and a dream of their own and strive to bring it to life on a daily basis. They also realize who they're not and don't waste time with stuff for which they're not nice or with which they're not happy.
13. They are more positive about the travel than the pay out. Good people disregard fast schemes to get rich. Through hard work, risk taking and innovation, they are more focused on developing sustainable careers. Despite the challenges, they enjoy the trip, because they are doing something in their lives that has meaning.
14. Instead of only eating, they make. Although most individuals are busy reading emails, watching television or listening to a podcast, effective individuals develop new resources, presentations and ideas. They are the ones that make things that other people need, eating them instead of being on the other end of the continuum.
Maybe I can be one of them. Soon!
