Understanding Suicide
It is estimated by the World Health Organization that about 1 million people die from suicide each year. What drives too many people to take a life of their own? It's difficult for those who are not in the grips of suicidal depression and desperation to grasp what drives so many people to take their own lives. But there is so much suffering for a suicidal person that they can see no other way.
Suicide is a desperate effort that has become unbearable to avoid pain. Blinded by feelings of self-loathing, hopelessness and loneliness, even by death, a suicidal person does not see any way of seeking relief. But despite their urge to stop the suffering, most suicidal individuals are profoundly conflicted with ending their own lives. They wish there was a suicide solution, but they just can't see one.
Warning signs of suicide
Many suicidal people send warning signs of their thoughts or signals. Recognizing these warning signs and knowing how to act if you spot them is the best way to avoid suicide. If you suspect that a friend or family member is suicidal, by pointing out the options, demonstrating that you care, and having a doctor or psychologist involved, you may play a part in suicide prevention.
Significant suicide warning signs include talking about killing or hurting oneself, talking or writing a lot about death or dying, and looking for items, such as guns and narcotics, that could be used in a suicide attempt. If the person has a mood disorder such as depression or bipolar disorder, suffers from alcohol dependency, has previously attempted suicide, or has a family history of suicide, these signs are much more harmful.
Hopelessness is a more subtle, but equally deadly, warning sign of suicide. Studies also found that a significant indicator of suicide is hopelessness. People who feel hopeless can talk about feelings that are "unbearable," expect a gloomy future, and state that they have little to look forward to.
Dramatic mood swings or abrupt shifts in personality, such as moving from outgoing to withdrawn or from well-behaved to defiant, provide other warning signs that lead to a suicidal mind frame. A suicidal person can often lose interest, neglect their appearance, or display major changes in their eating or sleeping habits in day-to-day activities.
**Suicide warning signs include:**
· "Any talk of suicide, dying, or self-harm, such as "I wish I wasn't born," "If I saw you again..." and "I would be better off dead.
· Searching for deadly means finding access to guns, drugs, knives, or other things that could be used in a suicide attempt.
· Preoccupation with death-Unusual emphasis on death, death or crime. Reading poetry or death stories.
· Feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, and being trapped ("There's no way out"), no hope for the future. Believing things are never going to get better or improve.
· Feelings of worthlessness, remorse, humiliation, and self-hatred-Self-loathing, self-hate. Feeling like a burden ("Without me, everyone would be better off").
· Having things in order—making a will. Giving prized possessions away. Make plans for members of the family.
· Saying goodbye to family and friends-Unusual or unwelcome visits or calls. Saying farewell to people as if they're not going to be seen again.
· Withdrawing from others-withdrawing from family and friends. Social alienation is growing. The longing to be left alone.
· Increased alcohol or drug use, reckless driving, unsafe sex-Self-destructive conduct. As if they had a "death wish," taking needless risks.
· Sudden sense of calm-A sudden sense of calm and happiness may mean that the person has made a decision to commit suicide after becoming extremely depressed.
Successful person have in common
1. Whether to stay and when to go, they know. Effective individuals know precisely when they can change jobs, start a business or fold their business. Despite competing powers, they have strong instincts and are not afraid to make tough choices.
2. More than what is asked of them, they do. They see their job descriptions as just the beginning of what their job is capable of doing. They will still ask you to take on more assignments that challenge them after they have completed their mandatory tasks. In order to be a team player, they are also able to take on the tedious work that no one else wants to do.
3. In order to ultimately succeed, they are willing to fail. All successful individuals know it's not easy and they're expected to fail more than they're going to excel in something. They are able to learn from any mistake, as it will help them make better choices that will lead to later success. Although many individuals give up after anything fails, a good individual would persevere.
4. They know they're making a fortune of their own. Luck is obtained over time from hard work and preparing yourself for achievement. You're not going to get lucky at random, and successful people know that. Every single day, they will do at least one thing to put themselves in a better place to get lucky and then use that luck to develop.
5. They set real targets they will achieve. Effective individuals wake up and they have already arranged their day, while ineffective individuals fail to find out what to do next. Their targets are highly concentrated, broad, but achievable and aligned with their strengths. They know what they are capable of and all their energies will be spent in it, avoiding their weaknesses.
6. They accept responsibility for themselves and their actions. In order to get the job done, they do not depend on other people. Instead, they look inward and try, while exploiting their existing assets, to find the solutions. They own up to it if they make a mistake and quickly think of how they can change next time, not make the same mistake twice.
7. Instead of being influenced by it, they make change. In order to be influenced by economic developments, successful people are not sitting around. They are the ones who create patterns and make things happen.
8. They are able to adapt to industry shifts. Successful individuals are able to reinvent themselves in the business environment to remain important. They realize that you'll be left behind if you sit stagnant and ignore trends. They continually come up with fresh ideas, look for the next big trend and learn new skills.
9. They can effectively express their narrative. If you walk up to a successful individual and ask them what they are doing, they will be able to concisely tell you all. They know who they are, what they're doing, and they can make you trust them. They have a good posture and are very confident and convincing.
10. The people who can give the best answers are asked the right questions. By tapping their networks, effective individuals realize they need to solve problems. They are not afraid that the only person who can answer their questions will be contacted or called. With the right questions, they are always prepared and are always able to help the other person out in return.
11. They are learners of a lifetime who drive themselves out of their comfort zones. Although most people assume that they are done as a student when they graduate from college, successful people remain students. They are always learning and discovering new things. They're not afraid of trying and failing to do new things.
12. They know who they are, and in the world, their location. Good individuals are optimistic and can lead themselves and others as well. They have a vision and a dream of their own and strive to bring it to life on a daily basis. They also realize who they're not and don't waste time with stuff for which they're not nice or with which they're not happy.
13. They are more positive about the travel than the pay out. Good people disregard fast schemes to get rich. Through hard work, risk taking and innovation, they are more focused on developing sustainable careers. Despite the challenges, they enjoy the trip, because they are doing something in their lives that has meaning.
14. Instead of only eating, they make. Although most individuals are busy reading emails, watching television or listening to a podcast, effective individuals develop new resources, presentations and ideas. They are the ones that make things that other people need, eating them instead of being on the other end of the continuum.
Managing your time as an Entrepreneur
Miles Davis, an American jazz trumpeter and bandleader, once said, **"Time isn't the main thing, it's the only thing."**
The big dream is to become a successful entrepreneur, but we fail to realize that with success comes bigger responsibilities. And like everyone else, we have 24 hours a day to do all that is required of us. But, how can we even know how best to manage our time then when we aren't even doing a good job managing it now?
As a business owner, you've got to understand that time is just as valuable as money, which is why not only should you be concerned with learning how to manage resources, but how to effectively manage time as well.
In dealing with time, always remember the words of Austrian-born American management consultant, educator, and author, Peter Drucker, "What gets measured gets managed."
Have you ever taken the time to find out what is responsible for bad time management in the first place?
To effectively manage one's time, it's best to first find out what might be responsible for poor time management and then deal with it form the root cause.
Reason for Poor Time Management
1. **No to-do list or endless to-do list**
A to-do list is a planner that helps you schedule your various activities for the day to achieve a set goal. The important thing is that your to-do list is working towards a set goal, outlining only the important thongs you need to achieve for the day.
When you do not have a to-do list, you end doing whatever you like becausd you can not track what needs to be done with what has been done.
Likewise, if you have an endless to-do list, you just might end up frustrated by your inability to cover or perform it all.
2. **Distractions**
Distractions come in different forms such as not having a workspace, which means putting up with noises from your environment, trying to respond to emails, text messages and the liked or it could be chrcking through social media, perhaps, to find out what the latest in your industry is. However, before you realize it, the day is over and you have to postpone today's work to tomorrow and the cycle continues.
3. **Multi-tasking**
Yes, multi-tasking is a strenght but can also be a weakness. According to David Meyer, a cognitive scientist, "**When you perform multiple task that each require some of the same channels of processing, conflicts will arise between the tasks, and you're going to have to pick and choose which task you're going to focus alone and devote a channel of processing it."**
So, attempt each task one at a time instead of trying to juggle everything up at once.
4. **Procrastination**
Procrastination is a time thief. It is intentionally delaying to start or finish a task despite knowing that it might have a negative outcome. We all procrastinate doing one thing or the other sometimes but when it becomes habitual, achievung success becomes difficult, whether as an entrepreneur or not.
According to Charles Darwin, an English naturalist, geologist and biologist, "**A man who dares to waste one hour of life have hot discovered the value of life."**
Now that we know the causes of poor time management, how can we change that to become effective managers of time?
How to effectively manage Time
1. **Set priorities**
Setting priorities means placing importance to each of the listed items on the list. When you set priorities, you know what must be done, what would be done, what should be done and what could be done by the end of the day. It helps you to say no to the things that need your attention and unnecessary distractions as well.
Victor Hugo, a French poet, and novelist said, "**He who every morning plans the transactions of that day and follows that plan carries a threat that will guide him through the labyrinth of the busiest life."**
Most successful entrepreneurs understand the importance of setting priorities as it helps them achiebe their goals at the end of the day. Hence, they set targets and key performace index for both themselves and those that work with them
However, in making your to-do list, you must understand that the goal is to list out your priorities, not prioritize what you decide to list out all in the name of making a list.
Stephen Convey once said, "**The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule but to schedule uour priorities.**"
2. **Complete the most difficult task first**
Once you are done in prioritizing, the next step is to figure out the toughest task on the list, which in most cases, takes priority.
Checking through upur mail, responding to messages fixing meetings, checking through social mediacto find out the latest news in town nd the likes shouldn't be the first thing to do when you start your day. Instead, start by identifying the most difficult task, such as writing a blog post, and then go further to accomplish it before moving on to the simpler tasks.
When you take down the difficult tasks, you'll fell good and less likely to procrastinate what's left since they are easier. But when you start with the simoler task by thectime you are ready to take down the complex task, you are exhausted already and all you want to do is postpond the task to the next day.
3. **Concentrate selectively**
As an entrepreneur, you'll always have so much to do that you'll begin to convince yourself that the best way to achieve your goals is to take up so many things at once. The truth is, however, is that you might end up ruining everything that way. So, why not focus on achieving one good thing at a time?
Ryder Carroll said, "**Inevitably we find ourselved tackling too many things at the same time, spreading our focus so thin that nothing gets tge attention it deserves. This is commonly referred as being busy. Being busy, however, is not the same thing ad being productive."**
4. **Delegate**
Delegating duties means transferring those non-priority things to the more appropriate individuals. The truth is that as an entrepreneur, you'll always have so much to do. So to avoid multitasking, you should consider delegating.
For instance, you can get a personal assistant to delegate your scheduling and other administrative tasks and routines that eat up most of yourctime and prevent you from focusing on the most important aspects of your business.
5. **Schedule time for interruptions**
Of course, certain interruptions are bound to surface during the day. You can set aside one or two hours when you plan to return phone calls, respond to emails, and even del eith colleagues and employees wothout being dragged away from something important.
When it comes to time management, always remember that "What gets measured gets managed."

Announcement
Good day everyone.
Sorry for the title but I don't have any idea what to put up there. With the 40,000+ users here, i think that "I'm new," "Newbie," "welcome," are already used up more than once as a title. So just for a changed let it be.
I'm announcing myself as legitimate read.cash user. Haha. I am EvaristoRay. My name Evaristo came from my grandfathers name and Ray from my fathers name. My parents are lazy to think of something different so they just put together the two names. Lol.
I've heard about readcash from my friend. He told me that you can earn here by writing articles and interacting with others thru upvotes. With this pandemic still on going and just here at home doing nothing, why don't I try, right?
I love to write about anything. I'm jolly and sometimes insensetive. So, will be asking for your forgiveness right now if I do commit mistakes in the future. ✌
Also, I have a little knowledge about cryptocurrency. I tried doing faucet claims (tiring) and earned 2-3 dollars, i think. My goal is to create a portfolio who can take me to the moon. Who doesn't want to get rich? Hipe that I can learn something from people here who are crypto enthusiasts.
I think I've said enough. Hope to interact with you guys soon. Thanks!
