The original plan was to distribute BCH leaflets to random people, particularly to my fellow college students, who will be submitting their Academic scholarship requirements yesterday at the Centennial Arena. However, when I got to the venue, there were no students around. Maybe because I got there earlier or a little later than I should have.
Before I discuss further what happened on my BCH Awareness Campaign yesterday, let me just voice out my opinion about the Importance of spreading Bitcoin Cash awareness, especially to those who are commenting that we are spreading it the wrong way or that it has no point of spreading it at all. I'll just speak based on my own understanding of this matter.
Spreading Bitcoin Cash awareness through giving away leaflets, posting about it on our social media accounts, wearing BCH-customized shirts, and creating BCH videos and uploading them on our YouTube channel is not just educating people about the existence of our very own Bitcoin Cash. Just like you who are earning money (BCH) both on read.cash and noise.cash, by spreading BCH Awareness, we get to give other people the opportunity to earn money by writing articles and making short posts.
If that person who got to receive a leaflet or watch a vlog on how to earn cash actually made money on these platforms, then it will create a ripple effect especially if they will also try to spread the opportunity that they received.
In the case where you have to feed the stomach first before the mind, there are a lot of crypto-based charities or foundations that are reaching those who have no access to the internet. In the Bitcoin Cash community alone, there are a lot of projects where unfortunate people are being touched by BCH.
Spread your eyes and look around, and you'll be amazed at how far Bitcoin Cash can go.
Back to the topic, I was on my way to the city when I read an article. At some point, I thought, I should just drop this idea as I got demotivated to push through my plan. However, if I do that, then I will just waste my time, effort, and money in coming up with this activity. I also realized that in Marketing Management, we use leaflets as a marketing tool in advertising the products we offer.
The first area where I gave away my BCH leaflets was in front of Jollibee. I was going to eat lunch that time so I grabbed the chance to distribute some of my leaflets. Busy people were around the place who didn't want to get my leaflets. This is not surprising because I was once ignoring those people who distribute leaflets of the products they're offering.
While eating, the thought of using Bitcoin Cash as a payment for the food I ordered came into my mind. If only we get to onboard fast-food companies or huge merchants in the Philippines to accept BCH as a payment, it would provide us convenience especially if we don't hold any bills in our wallet. This would also result in mass adoption.
The second place where I distributed leaflets was at Siazon Park near the Police Station at Laoag City. To be honest, I was new to the place so I got worried if I should push it or not. But I ended up pushing it anyway.
One by one, I approached those people who were just nearby the place.
I would walk up to them and say: "Hi. Maybe you're interested in Bitcoin Cash." and give them the leaflets. Some would ask: "What is this?" and I would respond, "It's BCH, a cryptocurrency."
Others tried to avoid me maybe because they thought I'm a scammer. Lol
I also left a leaflet in the visitor's logbook of the school where our car parked at. This was the time when I was looking for a comfort room and the school was the nearest place where I could pee. As my way of thanking the school, I left a leaflet. Hopefully, one of the visitors or the security guard saw it.
When my anxiety was about to kick in, I went back to the car and told myself, "Maybe that's enough for today."
Bottom Line:
It's not really easy to spread Bitcoin Cash awareness by distributing flyers, especially for someone like me who has not enough experience in executing this kind of activity. However, I am so sure that giving away leaflets to random people will draw their curiosity about what the content of the leaflet is about.
I still have about 40+ leaflets and I will just distribute them when I get the chance to get out of the house again.
Overall, this was an amazing experience for me not just for Spreading Bitcoin Cash awareness but also as a Marketing Management student.
This is not going to be the last time I will do my part in Spreading awareness about BCH. There will be more to come and I'm looking forward to those.
