Anita took hers but just as she withdrew her hands from the server, someone mistakenly hits her and the glass of wine shatters to the floor. She was distracted with trying to get someone to clean up the mess she already made, Oh sorry about that Michael said with displeasing, the servers will help clean it up he told Anita as he walk to where his friends were standing, your plan has been shattered as Peter burst out in laughter, I had it planned out this is just unfortunate Michael exclaimed, Lord of ladies why is this one taking so long remember the reward at stake Sam mocked, if I were you I will just give up said Chris in a lowering tone, I will get her some food to get offered peter.
Some minutes later after eating, Anita had already started to feel dizzy and needed somewhere to lay her head. She stood up and walked towards the rooms with Peter monitoring her. She got one and finally fell asleep forgetting to lock the door. Peter called the other two and they went in. They had gotten a jackpot. They were to take turns in exploring her world and Peter was to go first. Unknown to Michael the guys(peter, Sam and Chris) have planned on how to get Anita by drugging her food, Sa decided to join those serving the food to make the work easier, Meanwhile, Michael has started searching for Anita all over the party room but she was nowhere to be found, it was then that it became clear to him that this was the handiwork of his friends. He immediately started to search every room until he barged into the room where Anita was being defiled... He met Sam on her when he got in. His eyes were filled with pure rage as he rushed out of the room to the kitchen, he was going to do something crazy to the guys. He came back afterwards with a knife in his hands and stabbed Peter as he was the closest to the door. Anita regained consciousness though still tired but she was now aware of what had happened to her. She couldn't believe her eyes, she was devastated. she had just lost her pride of womanhood to reckless people and in a careless way.
It was already past midnight and there was nothing she could do at the moment, angel noticed all wasn't well and ran to see what was happening, she was shocked too, she never planned for any of these to happen but then what could she say or do. She tried to console Anita the best way she could.
The next morning, angel and Anita both went back to school and continued their life the normal way. The exams were to begin the next week after which they would be going on a long vacation for 6 weeks so Anita needed to help herself heal fast so it doesn't affect her academic work. The exams came and went. School vacation and Anita went back to Nigeria to see her mum. She was welcomed home with the great aroma of egusi soup coming from the kitchen. Her mom had made her favourite to welcome her back after a long time. Mother and daughter, she'd tears of joy as they embraced each other. The night was spent gisting and laughing.
Days went by as Anita adventured all about her vicinity visiting her old friends.
A week later, after her return, Anita fell sick and could even eat. Her mum felt it was a change of environment or malaria bit little did she know that the worst was to come. She decided to take to Anita to the hospital to run a malaria test. At the hospital, a series of tests were carried out on her. Anita's heartbeat increased as she sat beside her mom waiting for the results of the test. Finally, the doctor called her and her mom in and explain everything to them. Lastly, he said... "Madam your daughter is 4 weeks pregnant". It came as a shock to her mom and she immediately had a cardiac arrest. Anita was losing her mind, her mum was taken into the ICU. Multiple resuscitation actions were done to bring her back. Hours later, she opened her eyes faintly and saw Anita... She tried to speak but her heart was too heavy. She shakes her head and has up the ghost. Anita refused to be consoled. She cried as if the tears would bring back her mom but a to no avail.
Her mom was later taken to the cemetery and buried. Anita came back home feeling empty. Her eyes were already heavy with sleep as she laid to sleep she thought to herself "indeed, it's a life so null and void".
