The famous folk tale Bash-Celik, through a series of interesting fantastic paintings, as well as a dramatic plot, very vividly reveals the imagination of the folk narrator. The compositional structure of this fairy tale is very complex, and there is an unusual wealth of motifs. It expresses the idea that evil, no matter how great, can be defeated by human perseverance, persistent struggle, and faith in life.
The basic theme of the folk tale Bash-Celik is very common in fairy tales and is based on the fate of the youngest emperor who goes to a distant and unknown world in search of his sisters. The folk narrator follows his hero from skirmish to skirmish with obvious sympathy, bestowing victories on his strength, perseverance, and cunning.
Without explaining the reasons for his death wish, the emperor orders his sons to marry their three sisters to those who seek them first. When some invisible horrible forces, after the emperor's death, asked for one after the other, the three sisters, the eldest and the middle emperor did not want to fulfill their father's will, and only the youngest emperor executed it without thinking.
Looking for sisters, one by one the emperors go through difficult trials. They fight against dragons, and the youngest, who was very brave and cunning, also against ten giants and poisonous snakes. When they have overcome all obstacles, the youngest emperor seems to forget where he is and why he went and marries the emperor's daughter. But he pays dearly for his excessive curiosity. Although the emperor forbade him to enter some enigmatic halls when he went hunting, the emperor still goes there and encounters an unusual sight, a monster in which iron and water demons, Bash-Celik in chains, seem to be united. Civic gave water to Bash-Celik three times and got three lives. After he regained his strength with water, the ungrateful Bash-Celik kidnapped the wife of his savior and fled with her. Civic sets out in search of his wife and finds his sisters along the way, and his unusual sons-in-law help him defeat the iron monster. In order to save his wife, the emperor sacrifices three lives given to him by Bash-Celik, and whose exceptional strength is expressed in the fight with the armies of dragons, falcons, and eagles. In the end, he sacrifices his only life. But he manages to save himself by cunning, only when his brothers-in-law teach him how to deceive an iron monster and find out from his wife where the unusual power of the monstrous iron demon, Bash-Celik, is hiding.
The compositional structure of the folk tale Bash-Celik was built by constantly combining three details. Each trinity is built gradationally and permeates the entire fairy tale. Three emperors, three sisters, three unusual marriages are described, as well as scenes describing the unusual marriage of the emperor's daughters to unusual grooms, three feats of the emperors. To mark the properties of events and characters as supernatural and impossible in the fairy tale Bash-Celik is used miraculously and fantastically. In it, good and evil are very sharply divided, and especially on the basis of processing, one of the key motives about the iron man is the belief in the power of will. In that way, not only ethical values are preserved, but it is also pointed out that a person must constantly face obstacles with strength of will and perseverance because that is the only way to overcome everything.
