Antique vanilla
Ingredients for Antique Vanilla:
250 g of margarine (or fat),
5 tablespoons sugar,
1 egg,
1 egg yolk,
2 tablespoons milk,
600 g flour,
powdered sugar,
apricot jam, plum jam or similar.
Antique vanilla is prepared as follows:
Whisk the margarine with the crystal sugar, add the egg and yolks.
Add milk and then flour.
Knead the dough and wrap it in cling film.
Leave in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
Roll out the dough and take out the circles with a mold or a glass of smaller diameter.
Mix the excess dough and repeat the procedure (stretch and take out the circles).
Bake at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes. Follow the baking process, as soon as they start to get a yellowish color, take them out of the oven.
Join the two rolls with jam. Roll the finished vanilla in powdered sugar.
