The project is supported by the Government, through the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transition, and João Torres, Secretary of State for Trade, Services and Consumer Protection said today that “the experience we have observed is very positive”, but underlines that there is a need to adapt and accelerate the phase initiative to the challenges of COVID-19. "This project that is absolutely structuring for the increase of the economy and a sector that has an undeniable weight", underlined in the press conference that is taking place.
Pedro Siza Vieira, Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition, also recalled the challenge that was described when the program was launched a year ago, but added that in this period of the pandemic it showed the need that we all have for trade to access the elements basic and comfort.
The initial objective remains, to promote the digitization of 50 thousand Portuguese companies that are not yet in the Digital Economy, transforming some of the initiatives that were planned in the field and that are now online, through a new website, a Digital Academy and the free availability of the Confio.pt Seal and a directory of e-commerce companies.
The program will continue to offer the 3 in 1 Voucher for creating a domain, a website and e-mail accounts, benefits now extended with the offer of the certification and the Confio.pt seal for a year, but in the transformation to digital it is the training component that gains more prominence, with several free courses available at the Digital Academy, and the holding of online webinars.
João Torres stresses that after this first step of entry into digital, the Government wants to proceed with complementary measures with benefits and direct support for those who manage to sell through digital platforms, as long as it has an associated logistics chain. These measures are more clearly included in the Comércio.pt program, which was integrated into the economic recovery measures, with tools to support companies.
