For those who work from home especially those who are self-employed, Friday may not be such a special day because they must do the needful to make ends meet. This has made some of them forget that there is a day called Friday which serves as a precursor to the weekend. Are we to blame them? No... Friday and the weekend make more sense to those who work for others or preferably salary earners. They gladly look forward to Fridays because to them it makes the beginning of their resting days. So, once more let me use this medium to wish every one of you a happy weekend in advance.

Well, there is a reason for this post today and I would want to plead with you to read to the end. Most times we get so automated that we begin to function like robots or machines. A lot of people will get so attached to their job in such a way that nothing else matters. I understand that most people love the job they do which is why they get very attached to it. But, there is a great line between work and social/family life which we should not cross. What I am about to say today is one of the reasons why most marriages, homes or families have failed. We all know that money is good, but we must not forget that there are certain things we can not buy with money. Let's look at things more critically.

When you leave work on Friday, leave work.

Just as a lot of people are celebrating the coming of Friday because of the weekend that follows it, others have become so attached to their job that they will end up going home to continue working. Let's imagine a family where the parents are salary earners and they barely have time to be with their children on weekdays. Now, imagine such parents coming back home on Friday with piles of work to do in the house. This is one big mistake that gradually sips into the core foundation of the family if not checked. It is not a crime to come home with some work once in a while in other not to lose your job, but making it a tradition that you must come home with a pile of work to do during the weekend is not ok.

This attitude affects not only the children and the family, it even affects you more than every other person. When you make yourself an anti-social being, you would gradually lose friends and even yourself. By the time you understand what is happening, you would have become an island that no one wants to visit.

Yes, today is Friday, what plans do you have lined up for the weekend? There is one big thing I found out about life and I will love to share it with us. If you miss doing anything you are meant to do at any particular stage of your life, you will be hunted by that all the rest of your life. For instance, you grew up not playing as a child. You are certainly going to have it all messed up when it comes to taking care of your children and understanding them and the way they feel like children. This is one of the greatest challenges for most parents today and if they do not try their best to make things right, their children will end up learning and behaving in the same manner in future.

Yes, you have heard it before (Thank God is Friday), but have enjoyed it for once? This is a question you must ask yourself right now. A lot of people have made living an automated thing thereby their lifestyle and the things they do are predictable. What plans have you put in place for this weekend? Are you still going to do the same thing you have been doing every weekend? Pick up your dancing shoe, call your friends and book a venue or probably go clubbing. Just make sure to dance and jump around this weekend. One more thing, while leaving the office today please, drop that file on your table and go home with no extra job. Allow your family to enjoy your company and the love of parenting. Finally, it's Friday, let's be merry.
