Society has made it very difficult for one to understand the role of anger and why it is very important in everyone's life. If you must know, anger is very important, and if you are among those who rarely get angry, then you must avail yourself of this opportunity to read through this post to understand why you must make anger a part of your life. Judging from the above statement, I know that someone is already feeling indifferent about what I am saying, but I will advise you not to act based on an assumption but rather read to the end of the post for a better understanding.

How Society Perceives Anger

Just as you will naturally feel very bad or sad when someone reacts in a manner that does not suit you, that is the same way you feel when you go against the passed-down norms. But is anger the real enemy of man? Our creator made us and added such feelings to us because He understood the importance of it, but we allowed our human limitations to give us another definition and purpose of anger. Anger and the way we see it is like that girl who dresses provocatively but with the purest of hearts. Why is that so? This is because society has thought we should base our judgments on the physical attributes and features of a person even before getting to know what they have inside. This is one of the greatest mistakes we have allowed ourselves to make over and over again. How can we say that a girl who dresses provocatively is a bad person when we have yet to have an encounter with her?

I call it a baseless assumption because it is not founded upon the truth but rather is based on mere sentiments and bias. A lot of us must have had an encounter where we allowed ourselves to be fooled by someone's appearance only to be surprised by the person's real character. You must have seen or heard how people were deceived into letting a thief into their house because the thief presented herself as a pregnant woman. I once heard a story from a priest about a family and the tragic incident that happened to them while on a journey. I will be very short with this story because I believe it will help me buttress my point.

The family was made up of three children, two boys and a girl, with their father and mother. They were traveling to the village on that faithful day, and as they went down a particular road, they came across a pregnant woman who was walking under the hot sun alone. The wife, who was seated in the front while the husband was driving, asked the husband to stop so that they could give the pregnant woman a lift. She felt pity for the pregnant woman she saw under the hot sun, so she kept on persuading the husband to stop. The husband, who knows how dangerous that area used to be, told the wife that she should forget the pregnant woman and that another car would help her, but the wife insisted. As the man slowed down just a little distance from the woman in other to revise, just in the twinkle of an eye, four well-armed men jumped out of the bush from all sides and surrounded the car, including the pregnant woman, who had already removed the fake pregnancy she was carrying only to reveal her gun. The man could not do anything other than stop because if he tried to escape, the armed robbers would open fire on the car and that would put the entire family at risk.

The armed robbers asked them to step out of the car, and they all did so because the children were already crying in fear. When the armed robbers saw the girl who was the eldest among the children, they took hold of her and asked the man to go with the remaining family because the girl fit the description of what they wanted. The armed robbers were kidnappers and sellers of human parts. As they threatened to kill the other children if the man did not take them and go away, the man was left with no other option than to do as he was told. As they left the scene, he drove straight to a nearby military checkpoint, and by the time they got back to the scene of the incident, they saw the girl lying in the pool of her blood with some of her body parts missing. The man could not handle the sight. He slumped and was rushed to the hospital, but he later died on the third day.

Looking at the above story, you will notice that most of the time we allow people into our lives because they look innocent and good, and we end up not letting those who look very rough and deadly into our lives. This is exactly what we do with anger. We assume that everything anger is bad, not knowing that anger is a tool our creator deposited in us to help us succeed in life.

Anger is the Remedy

If you are reading this post, just know that your situation or challenges can only be changed when they make you angry. If you are not yet angered by poverty, you will not have the strength of mind and body to do whatever it takes to get out of poverty. A man who is rejoicing in his comfort zone can only be pushed the moment something or someone begins to get him angry. Anger is the key that you need in this life to make things work. That is why you hear some people say that they bought their car because someone splashed water on them with a car. You cannot fight your enemy if you have not been angered very much. Don’t forget that we must not allow anger to control us; rather, let it be the force that pushes us to get better and achieve our life goals.
