How to overcome depression part 2

Hello Mes Amis,

I have so busy since yesterday and just got free this Morning so I decided to post write the second part of my previous article. I planned to write this article by 11 am earlier yesterday, but my work schedule couldn't allow me do so. I am even writing now to fulfil the promise I made that I was going to write the part two of the previous day's topic.

How to overcome depression

Last time I stopped at avoid watching bad or sad news and I stated some reasons for this. If you would like to read it please click this link.

Moving on, let's take the other points now, shall we?

  1. Be contented; The lack of contentment is the major reason why so many people experience Dysthymia. They covet and long for the things of others all day long and when they can't get it, they become sad and depressed. James the apostle, address this kind of issue in the Bible. Read it below;

James 4:1-3

[1]From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?

[2]Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

[3]Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

A popular quote in French says 'Que Sera, sera' that is 'whatever will be will be'. Why not just chill and make do with what you have. You don't need flashy clothes, a big mansions or an expensive car to live, so why bother about them? A guru once gave a nice precept:

Do you have a problem? Yes. Can you solve them? No. So, why worry?

Do you have a problem? Yes. Can you solve them? Yes. So why worry?

Do you have a problem? No. Then why do you even worry?

Yeah, I know there are times that you may feel downcast when you don't have what you are supposed to have but you have to take your mind off your problems sometimes. Worrying never give good result. Instead of worrying, pray, work and be hopefully then you will see things turn around for your good.

  1. Be thankful in all situation; This is actually a result of contentment. Only a contentment person can give real thanks for those things he has. Instead of worrying for those things you don't have, give thanks for what you have. There is always something to give thank for. Forget that you don't have that things yet, Give thanks to God that you are alive, healthy, breathing and kicking. Only a living person can achieve anything, A dead person can do nothing, can achieve nothing and can take in nothing.

  2. Work on your imagination: one of the major powers God gave man is the ability to create imaginations. Imaginations are so powerful so much because everything you see today was birthed through imagination. From the smallest pin to the biggest plane, it's all started from imagination. Currently, scientists are working on reducing aging in man and it all started from a man's imagination: imagine living for a hundred years with no wrinkle. As good as imaginations are, if not channeled towards the right direction and purpose, it can be very dangerous and negative in impact. The birth of Boko Haram in Nigeria and other terrorist group in the world started in the imagination of a wicked heart. Before a rape crime is been committed, it is been first executed in the imagination of the heart. So also is depression. When you start imagining evil things, bad occurrence or negative things, you are only opening yourself up to depression. So, make your imaginations pure. Be positive, be pure in think For the Bible says;

Bless are those who are pure in heart (have pure, clean and consistent imaginations) for they shall see God.

You will become what you imagine. So, imagine right!

Conclusion

Phew! I'm thankful I'm able to finally write this article after trying to for some days now. Although I had many things to write under this topic but I think I'd stop here for now.

We don't remain thankful and we don't show gratitude due to which we face depression most of people remain in complaining mood

Exactly friend. Most people think by complaining they can get attention or what they want but at the end it only leads to more frustration and depression

True my friend. We should be contented. The person that no having a contentment it may cause a depression. It's better be contented what we had and be happy.
