We are now in an era where people do use social media a lot . They sometimes become solely addicted to it and it becomes really hard to stop using them thereby causing people to classify it as a bad thing but let's take a look at it.

Social media we say is an avenue where a while lot of people gather to relate. These social media can fairly be accessed through apps or the web and example of these includes ; Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, and a whole lot of others .

We get the chance to associate with a whole lot of others via these platforms , we chat with them , exchange pictures, become friends if we were not and a whole lot but saying the good side doesn't cover the bad sides of using the platform also .

It comes to a time that it ruins life or makes it difficult for some people to stay in course. Instead of them using their time wisely , they now again tend to stay all day on social media, playing , chatting and a whole lot which in return causes more loss than gain.

There re several importance of social media which includes ;

  • Socialization

  • Sharing of information

  • Teaching and learning

  • Group discussion

  • Provision of information

  • And a whole lot

But also there are countless effects social media has on us and if we don't play it well we can end up regretting it of which some includes ;

  • Peer influence

  • Media influence

  • Decrease in productivity

  • Scam

  • Addiction

  • And several others .

There is therefore the need to use social media accordingly and efficiently since when used efficiently can help sustain and bring good importance to us.

It's the one part that Social media is an avenue where a while lot of people gather to relate. On the other hand, it makes more unsocialized in the real world. Do u agree with me?

Yes I agree perfectly with you. While we make a lot of friends on social media we sometimes leave out our neighbours or people we know and live with simple because we think we have a whole lot of New Friends to associate or sometimes you just forget about them but that's not the way it should be you should still keep such friends because they will be there for us always.

Social media is addictive! The mobile phone too is addictive. I know of a friend that could not live without her phone.

But then the advantages of social media far outweigh the disadvantages. So social media is somehow a way of life now

The key with the use of social media as with so many other things in life is to strike a balance. Excessive usage should be avoided. A note of caution too is that social media should not be seen as an alternative to interacting with people in our everyday lives as it is fast becoming that way. Like I tell people we are becoming more connected to people far away while being disconnected from those who are close to us such as family members and neighbours.

You make a really good point as we socialize with people we shouldn't also stay disconnected from our family members or neighbours but keep that relationship between us and also it shouldn't be used excessively because excessive usage of it is what causes problems in the near future.

Social media is making a very good progress at the present time but it has its advantages as well as its disadvantages. Nowadays people are becoming addicted to social media in various ways. As a result, he is hurting himself as well as someone else for taking bad steps on social media. At present, this social media is making young children addicted to games. So we have to use social media in the right way and use it in the right way. I enjoyed reading this article because it is very important.

Basically addiction is the most dangerous effect of social media. It is the first thing that or the first effects on each and every person who decides to use it irresponsibly .

Through addiction they are now exposed to several damages and also exposed to more time consuming activities of which has no advantage on humanity. It is therefore the responsibility of all to choose what and how they use social media because it being a tool of change it is also a tool of Destruction thank you.

Social media is a tool, and as such there is a right way and the wrong way to use them. The good and right use of media is beneficial, alongside with parental advisory.

Yes there is a whole lot of socialization but I do not agree when you say it is dangerous to school Children.

Why? It is the children who can make it harmful to them because I remember our teacher used the social media app to keep in touch with us and give us some work to try our hands on even in lockdown which was pretty good .

Thereby I say social media is good and also bad but it's influence on a person depends solely on the person. Thank you.
