Time travel to younger self

Remember the days when you looked up to elder ones thinking why can't they play with me straightaway, way can't we go to my favorite place right now & a million others wishes of yours which you wanted from your parents right at the moment. These were of course the times when you have a rose tinted view of world and knew nothing about the difficulties and complexities faced by elders in their day to day life. When you didn't have a opinion of your own. The world was just a big playground for you where you ran freely with your new shoes on or an infinitely big canvas where you can draw your imaginations portraying a pure lack of worldly knowledge, often some creatures from parallel universe, a really unrecognizable picture of some animal or a family having your mom-dad and house. This article is just a time travel to those happiest and carefree times of our life. My work will be most relatable to middle class but then again we divide ourselves in classes only after being intellectually sound and taught for that therefore most of us can relate.

First bicycle

That glimpse of first bicycle, your very first own vehicle was really a blissful one elating as anything. When mom-dad bought one for you after noticing your age being perfect for one or as in my case, after hanging on my dad's shoulder for a full week LOL. The air felt very different riding it, like you are in some other universe of your own, sound of its bell(tring-tring) which usually gives a sense of responsibility, but just another toy and one of the dearest to play with. Brother/sister sitting pillion to you doing back seat driving waiting for their turn was an absolute fortune I would love to experience again, of course only in dreams now.

Evening dilemma

Friends calling you out to play, cheering air adding feathers in nature's cap, awesome evening vibe with hustle and bustle around but you are still stuck with your homework with mom as your tutor. You were supposed to complete by 5:00pm and it's already 15 past 5 and you are already having butterflies in your stomach. Mom being strict about studies, but softest at core doing her job perfectly and finally, you make it in next 5 minutes. Heading for exits immediately and carefree enough to not even fold your notebook, organizing all stuff you used. Mom will surely do this for you too and the smile that open air bought to your face when you united with friends is the one of unforgettable.

All those toys

World crafted in plastic used to be the dearest thing. To those who couldn't afford, they had toys of their own mostly on the basis of their imagining power putting magical energies in non-living things. Getting surprised receiving a new toy from someone was the best feeling. Playing with toy car for hours and relating them with the real world scenarios from television or daily life view of roads, giving a flight to ironman in your small hands, nasty brawls with brother sister over toys when they got hold of your favorite ones and a million sweet memories. Sleeping by the side of your favorite teddy bear, crying madly and stopping only after superman being passed on to you was really a notorious act but one close to heart which mother often tells us now depending on how much she remembers.

Special attention

Crying was the ultimate solution to most of the problems. Food choices, mother getting you ready for school also setting up your backpack for the day, father playing horse horse with you, those birthday parties you hosted and been at, all those gifts and return gifts and that one big gift from favorite uncle or aunt which would steal all the spotlight for the day. Remember dozing off on any random place in your house and getting up in the morning to find yourself in bed....daddy's magic. These things are always in some part of your brain being a reason for who you are today.

Festivals

Spark of festivals was really something else back then. For me, diwali was the best one and I didn't even had any environmental concerns enjoying all the crackers I could. Wearing new clothes, sitting in temple for the special evening pooja and above all, waiting all day long to see the night lights which were the result of our hard work for the festive decoration of our house. Crackers were the best and all the sweets at the evening feast. We all have sweetest memories of festival buried deep down. Just sigh for a while and let them take control, it will surely cast a healing spell on your buys souls.

Cherish the memories when times are hard, never let that id within you go away. Reminiscing younger self may give some sort of enlightenment at times and you will love yourself more than ever for the inherent liveliness which has got buried within you over time.
