Lucid Dream is a kind of dream so that a person can control the dream and change it if he wants. In the midst of this dream, a man wakes up and realizes that he is dreaming. The first stage of the Lucid Dream is to recognize something while dreaming. When we recognize someone in a dream, our brain responds to the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and helps it go to the sleep REM stage. Now the question is what is the REM stage of sleep again? Why do people see Lucid Dream at this stage?

On average, people dream 4 to 6 times in their sleep every day. Our sleep can be divided into two stages. One is the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) and the other is Non-Rapid Eye Movement (Non-REM). People usually see Lucid Dream in their sleep. Our brains are most active during this time of sleep. The lateral prefrontal cortex of the human brain is responsible for seeing the lucid dream. This part of the brain controls the reasoning power of humans. The lateral prefrontal cortex of our brain is usually inactive during RAM sleep. But many times this part is active so that we can judge by reasoning and dream and control it as we like.

There are some methods we can use to make Lucid Dream. By now we know that Lucid Dream is in the REM phase of sleep, at this time Lucid Dream can be seen if the brain is kept awake. For this you need to wake up exactly five hours after sleeping once, then fall asleep again. This allows you to go straight to the sleep RAM stage and see the Lucid Dream. Another method is MILD (Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams). This is a kind of obsession method. In this case, before you go to sleep every day, you will say to yourself over and over again, "I will see Lucid's dream today." Another way is to keep a diary of your dreams and read them once a day. If you follow these methods, you are more likely to see Lucid Dream.

However, for those who have a mental illness, the Lucid Dream can be harmful. Because the main purpose of sleep is to relax the brain, but Lucid Dream will keep you awake even in the middle of sleep. Which will affect your mental and physical health. As a result, the Lucid Dream is harmful to those who suffer from depression and also for the general public.
