Yes, grumpy old men need an advent calendar too. So here is mine. It's a scratch calendar with 24 chances to win. The more identical symbols, the better. I accidentally permanently deleted some important folders on an SSD. The scan of a recovery software has been running for 5 hours now and so far about 1/5 is done. This is going to be a long process. Wish me luck!

No backup - no pity! I should have known! In March, I integrated a second SSD into my computer and then copied data to it. I still kept the old version of the data as a precaution. It was only when I wanted to make a backup the day before yesterday (yes, much too late!) and clean up the computer beforehand that I deleted the old data. What a start to the day. Today a colleague woke me up by phone because I overslept. Something like that should absolutely not happen and has never happened before. On the evening before St. Nicholas Day, the children clean their shoes (the only time of the year) and put them by the door. St. Nicholas then comes at night and fills the boots with small presents, fruit or chocolate. If you live alone, however, he doesn't come. Whenever I'm on the road again with my diesel, I'm pleased that at least electricity generation is slowly being converted to renewable energies. It feels like a new wind turbine is growing every week. Many people are bothered by this, but I'm glad. Many think the sight destroys our nature, but there is no question of that in a cultural landscape anyway. Anyway, I hope that my next car will be powered by these wind turbines.

Our local zoo is selling the best Christmas present ever. Who wouldn't love a voucher for 10 litres of elephant dung? Yes, indeed, they make gold out of shit. Of course, there is a serious background to this. The dung is to be used in gardens, as fertiliser. And the profit will benefit the animals, at least that's what I hope.

A day without time for noise, I am extremely sorry! We installed a new telephone system at work today and set up all the new phones. I can't hear any more ringtones today, no matter what the volume. But at least the time passed very quickly and the new system will save me a lot of time and nerves in the future. That's the plan. Welcome to this millennium... A good friend has a little brewery and passed his exam two days ago so now he is a #brewmaster. This is of course a reason to celebrate and so he visited me last night and brought some of his great #beer for tasting. In the pictures you can see a pilsner and a red, both unfiltered and great tasting. He really deserves the title of brewmaster. My congratulations!

It's not easy to choose flowers, of course, everyone has 1000 photos of them and on noise there are 1000 more every day. I got my #TLM back! 32 days ago I stupidly teleported 130 TLM from WAX to BSC. Of course, I didn't take into account the BSC network fees and my TLM was already hanging in the air. Lost places Every now and then I stop at a rest area where this lost little house stands. It is an old kiosk that was abandoned about 15 years ago. In the meantime it serves as a holder for all kinds of stickers and unfortunately also as a toilet for motorists. Still, I like places like this, a little piece of the past in the present.

The universe in a nutshell Ever since I can remember, and even before, this little forest in a nutshell has been with us at Christmas time. The little work of art will have found its way into our family around 1975 and has been treated like a treasure ever since. Now that Christmas is almost over, my son has finally arrived with us after all. Now we have a few days together. Of course, there was time for presents again. I got a very creative, delicious and selfmade gift, this crazy chocolate, with sugar pearls, nuts, hemp seeds, almonds, strawberries and obviously a lot of love. Almost too good to eat it...

Funkelfenster - Sparkle windows This year, empty shops in our city have been transformed into fairytale worlds that invite you to take a stroll through the old town. So my parents, my son and I took a trip today and enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately, so did a lot of other people, sometimes it was too crowded for me in the narrow streets. Afterwards a homemade pizza and now it's time for the Darts World Cup. Everyone is happy...
