Quest for Wisedom
“Who is wise and understanding among you? let him shew by his good life his works in meekness of wisdom.”
James 3:13 RV1895 https://bible.com/bible/1922/jas.3.13.RV1895
This verse is great. It comes right after James talks about the tongue being responsible for the praise of God and the cursing of Gods creation. Surely, he was on to something.
When it comes to wisdom, there is so much true in the wisdom of staying silent. This is more of a self control aspect of the trait. But is it wisdom? I’m sure part of it falls under that category, especially in family issues.
However, I argue that if the meekness of wisdom is truly a goal, then pray for wisdom. Pray for the wisdom of understanding when to be silent and when to speak.
Be humble before Christ and give him everything. Pray before you speak and before you are silent. Then you will find wisdom.
