What a day! Very busy. And during my dinner break the take out bowl that had my soup in it broke! I got all wet, even my pants. What’s up foodies? Here’s tonight’s Frankenstein dinner. Originally we were going to seven family members…. Then my brother-in-law and his family showed up. So we ran out to the garden and got more vegetables and coke now. Then my sister-in-law stopped by and we cooked more. Now we have dinner for 15 people. It’s no problem and the more the merrier. Now I’m getting my glasses fixed. The frames got bent this morning when they fell off and got slightly crushed by a box of food. It just takes a few minutes and I’ll be back cleaning up after the catering.

Took a little longer than I expected to fix my glasses. The technician had a lot going on in his life and wanted to talk about it. It was fine with me because I know how it feels to have something inside that you need to get out. In the end he felt better and my glasses were fixed.

The weather is nice for the first time in weeks. My wife and I had a wonderful walk. We found this interesting plant. I’m wondering what it will look like in summer.

It always happens. Every time we have a family get together (a big one) someone always drinks too much. I don’t drink, so I’m the designated driver and the nurse to get the drunks to lay down. This is my brother-in-law. I tried to get him to lay on a bed, but he insisted too sleep on the sofa. I think his neck will hurt when he gets up.

What a busy day. We cooked two large meals for the family. Tomorrow we will make ten batches of fried rice noodles and braised pork. So we will get up at 5. The special food is good Too Seeing Festival. Get some rest my friend and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow ;)

Now we are almost done with the 500 lunch boxes. My in laws work like a fine oiled machine and I usually get in the way. So I do little jobs and heavy lifting. In going to load boxes with 66 lunchboxes into the truck to drop off. I’ll upload a picture when I finish.

Wow. My daughter can’t find her frequent Flyer number and she asked me. She’s leaving in a few hours. So I have to go through a lot of emails to find it. After 30 minutes, I found it in an email from 2010. Before I would have told her to call customer service, but today that takes hours.

We finished the 500 lunch box order. After loading then in the truck for delivery, this was the last lot, so I quickly took a picture before the kids went on. Unfortunately, we have a lot of leftovers…. The family will keep some. The rest we will donate to a homeless shelter. They love it when we have leftovers.

Oh no. My sons elementary school just announced that 2 students got covid, so they will close the school for two weeks. Online classes again. I’m glad the kids are safe, but I think online classes for children are not effective.

Country folk Always amaze me with their ingenuity. My mother-in-law was having trouble walking in the field and fell down more than once because the uneven soil. So she used some styrofoam boxes to plant vegetables in the yard. The yard is cement, so it’s level.

The students have to test for covid. So all the elementary students were marched in and got a PRC. I know how terrible getting it jabbed up your nose is, so I treated my students to a snack at 7. We were very careful and practiced social distance and washed our hands twice.

This is my favorite flower. It’s an ivy species. The Chinese translation would be cow lead or rope. It grows over everything here and can be destructive. But I really love the color. They also open and close with depending on sunlight.

My daughter wanted to go to Florida to visit a friend. She is a college student, so her money is tight. I told her I would buy the ticket. I told her I wanted to show my students different things in the US and she could work for me to photograph things. I have always loved wildlife and Florida has a lot. I got her and her friend a ticket to a croc park. It's not a petting zoo, of course. But you can get up close and see this amazing creature.

This morning I got up quietly and went to work so my wife could get done rest. Well when she got up, she was dizzy from an inner ear infection. I was already at work so she had to call her sister to carry her down to the first floor and then take her to the hospital. She just got home when I finished and was driving back. Good morning! Today is my son's first face-to-face class in two weeks. His school had two Covid cases, so they closed. Now, they are back open. They are thinking of changing the rules to more like flu cases. Instead of closing the whole school, they might just close classes. Makes a lot more sense. My students missed out on Easter fun because the school was shut down for covid. Now it’s back up and the kids want to have some fun. So I’m preparing bingo for a lot of students. I’ll prepare this Easter bingo, activity papers, egg hunt, and an art and craft. What do you think? Any additional ideas?

Due to the covid shut down, the local elementary school had a surplus of vegetables. So they are offering it to neighbors for free. We got these for under $5 usd. They still have more. Anyone want some?

This picture is posted on my FB every day. I think that it is an excellent method to help individuals in need. I know some families don't exchange gifts for Christmas either, but instead sum up the money they would have spent on presents and donate it to charity. I think it is a greater idea for us that don't want or need anything.

This verse always moves me. John the Baptist, a superstar of the time, stops what he is doing. Then he acknowledges Jesus as the lamb of God. Can you imagine the impression this on all those that are waiting to see him (John). Put yourself in their shoes. You are waiting to get baptized by “the baptist” and he stops and acknowledges one greater. We all knows what happens next.

Today verse comes right after John 3:16. This verse is truly magnificent because it flips the old prophecy on its head. Before Christ, they were expecting a warrior messiah to defeat the evil and judge the worthy. However Christ didn’t come to do that. He came to offer the ultimate sacrifice to save. Here are The Easter egg hunt winners. All the students were winners. But we put special papers in some of the eggs and they got the toys. Everyone else got candy. Each student could only get 2 eggs. Lots of fun. But as with every egg hunt, we end up with less eggs than we started with.

Taiwan government is giving people classified as workers an early Labor Day gift. While I’m primarily a teacher, I’m classified as a laborer because the size of our cram school and not a government teacher. Thank you Taiwan.
