The earth is full of many wonders, while some are considered a paradise and an embodiment of perfection, others are extremely dangerous amd are considered a "must not visit" zone or a "visit at your own risk".
A lot of you out there do like to go out to explore, this is something to remind you of a place that will pump your adrenaline and challenge your inner adventure and spirit.
We are going to be taking a look at Ten of the most dangerous places on earth. If you are am explorer and love to have some adrenaline pumping fun, those places will catch your interest after all no place is that fun unless we add the word "dangerous" and maybe a little bit of "restricted" as well.
If you are hoping to have some fun by touring the world, be sure not to include these places. If you insist, do so at your own risk.
10. Lake Natron, Tanzania
This is an all time favourite, stepping close to this body of water will make you feel like you are in the middle of an horror film.
It's water is very lethal to humans. It has a high PG level between 9 and 10.5, a temperature as high as 60°C and an overblow of salt.
What happens when you mix all of these things together? You get a substance that can easily calcify dead bodies and burn your skin within seconds.
You don't need to out yourself in the water just to know how bad it is, just putting a printed shirt in the lake will show you how easily the ink will come off it.
Imagine if that ink was your skin, that would be scary.
9. Sanna, Yemen
The middle easy is full of amazing secrets, in this part of the world you could fine some cool cities in the midst of deserts amd refreshing ocean waters. One of the most cool cities there is Sanna, the capital of Yemen.
This place is famous because it is one of the most inhabited cities in the world, and is also one of the highest capital cities today- elevated at 2300 meters above sea level but unfortunately is also one of the most dangerous spots on the planet due to terrorism that includes bombing and other violent acts that scares visitors away. Different authorities from around the world discouraged travellers from going there.
Hopefully one day all these will change and a lot of us will be able to see this amazing city without fear.
8. North Sentinel Island
The list of the most dangerous places on earth is not complete without this island. After all the place is forbidden and it is a proof that there are still people out there who have never been in touch with modern day civilization and do not have plans of doing so.
North Sentinel Island is forbidden and is a very dangerous place.
Local Indian law says that you can never come closer than 5km to this island and that is because the inhabitants of thus place do not like outsiders to the point that they will kill them.
The most recent and most popular attacks of the Sentinelese is one of an American man in 2018 who tried to make contact with with. However the man got killed while trying to reach the shores of the island.
It is quite evident that thus islanders wants to stay away from the rest of the world and I honestly think we should keep it that way.
7. Dallol, Ethiopia
Looking at the pictures of Ethiopia makes me want to grab my bags and get on the next flight to that awesome country. With 80 different people groups, 200 languages and art of UNESCO heritage sites, this place seems to be a great spot to explore and is probably need more than a couple of days to see what this country has to offer.
But in the northern side of the country there is a place that sounds interesting but also quite scary. It is the ghost town of Dallol, one of the most remote and hottest place on our planet.
The temperature during the year is around 35°C which can be tough even for those who love hot weather. The underground water is salty and full of acid, and you can find geysers throughout the town. It looks cool until you realise they release some kind of toxic gases.
Which means Dallol shouldn't be on your visit list if you ever have plans of exploring Ethiopia.
6. Mailu suu, Kyrgyzstan
This is one of the most radioactive places on earth. Mailu suu, a small town in Kyrgyzstan was the snall town in charge of doing the mining and processing of Uranium for the Soviet Union from the late forties to the sixties. However the business was not as profitable as they thought so the people working I'm the industry lost their jobs.
However after more then 20 years of having this industry active a lot of the people starting developing health problems. Although mining of Uranium is not a thing anymore, the place and that is because any natural disaster such as a land slide or an earthquake can increase the chances of a radioactive contamination.
You wouldn't want to be near this town if a natural disaster were to hit, neither do I think you would want to be around in general.
5. Lake Nyos
Lakes are very cool places to go for a swim, well except for the salt lake previously mentioned above. Some of them are better left untouched and this is also the case of the Lake Nyos on the Northwest side of Cameroon. This body of water is right on top of an area known for it's volcanic activities which causes a leak of carbondioxide from underground.
Every now and then these leaks turn into something that is called Limnic eruptions which is when the carbon dioxide bursts out all the way from the bottom of the Lake up to the surface in the form of a toxic cloud.
The cloud lacks oxygen inside and sucks the life out of any living being around it. Back in the 1980's two eruptions ended the lives of fifteen hundred people and three three thousand animals.
Now you know that even the most peaceful bodies of water can be dangerous when they're in such a scary environment.
4. The Colorado River
The famous Colorado River is so long that it passes through five big states- California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. This river which is 2300 kilometers long even makes it through the famous grand canyon, or that reason it's water is great for those people who want to go out for a swim in the summer or even other fun activities such as water water rafting and so on.
The problem is that a lot of people underestimate just how dangerous this water can be especially in the aftermath of unstoppable rain amd right after melted snow makes its way to the waters. When this happens the waters rise and speed of the current increases.
In 2014 there were fifteen people who died on the river, usually drowning as a result of people jumping in rough waters without a proper knowledge or equipment.
You can check out the Colorado River but don't spoil the holiday fun by swimming in it without properly "testing the waters".
3. Fukushima, Japan
This place became dangerous in 2011 when a nuclear disaster hit the prefecture of Fukushima in the island of Honshu in Japan. It was considered the most severe nuclear desiaster since the Chenobyl in the 80's.
The Fukushima disaster started right after Jaoan was hit with an earth quake and a tsunami. There were explosions and multiple damages that resulted in radioactive contamination.
The current high levels of contamination in the area makes it one of the most dangerous places to visit.
Chris Busby a professor from the University of Ulster claimed that the disaster at Fukushima was worse than the one at Chenobyl. The disaster back in the 80's went off in one go but according to Busby, Fukushima is still boiling its radionuclides.
2. Jacob's well
It is a famous swimming hole in Texas but also a very dangerous one. This lake in Texas is located in Hays County just an hour southwest of Austin. The swimmimg hole is attractive to swimmers for the simple fact that it is so clear that you can see its bottom.
It's dangerous but not because of its waters, in fact there is nothing wrong wrong going in for a quick dip and refreshing yourself after a long day under the sun. What makes this place dangerous is it's system of underwater caves and tunnels where a lot of people have gone missing.
Since the water is so clear you can spot the entrance of the passages without any problems but once you're in total darkness. This place has proven to be the ultimate spit for free divers and scuba divers in the region region come and test their skills.
There have been atleast 9 deaths at this spot, two of them happened in 1979 and it took two years for people to find one of those bodies, the other one didn't come out until the year 2000 and that's 21 years later.
That shows you just how bad it can be to get lost in those caves. So make sure you know what you're doing if you ever choose to go down there.
1. The Half Dome
The Half Dome is the most dangerous hiking spot in Yosemite, California. Every year thr Yosemite gets atleast a hundred calls from people who are asking for help. Most of the time it's people people are dehydrated, out of shape or ill. All those conditions an make this hike even more difficult than what it already is.
The hike requires you to pass through a lot of water falls in which you can easily slip and fall to your death. Once you approach the last 100 metres of the hike you will find a series of cables that will lead you through the steep and vertical summit. People at the park say that this is the spot where most fatalities happen and for that reason they recommend people to have proper shoes and gloves, and to take their time to make it to the top.
Once you manage to get past those dangers, the Half Dome surely looks like a really impressive place to go for a hike.
If you're a fan of exploration in a bid to have some fun make sure sure to not visit the above mentioned places or do so at your own risk.
