Gcrypto Is Coming To Gcash!

Alright people! This might be late on the party or on time I guess but the best time for Gcash X crypto lovers in the Philippines will going to have a grand celebration when this thing happen.

Months ago, I've wrote an article about the possible collaboration of Gcash and cryptocurrency. A collaboration that might change the perspective of every filipino about cyptocurrencies. Now, upon checking my Gcash wallet, Ive noticed something is added to their services and this is “Gcrypto” see the screenshot below.

This means, something big is coming to Gcash as the leading crypto wallet in the country. Cryptocurrency services will be added in the E-Wallet probably 1-3 months from now. This might bring some game changing things as well as tech to tech competition between these E-wallets in the country. This is due to the fact that, one of the rival and also popular E-wallet called Paymaya that is rebranded to Maya was also started to adopt cryptocurrency before Gcash. And, this might be a huge threat for Coins.ph wallet.

Crypto on Gcash: Expectations and Insights

Since we are going to see cryptocurrencies on Gcash, there are few things that we are going to consider based on my own perspective too. And that some possible things that this adaptation will lead the users to.

1.)More Cryptocurrency Adaptation in the Philippines?

Well, the probability for the Cryptocurrency to be introduce to Filipinos are possibly higher since Gcash as what I have mentioned is the leading wallet that widely used in the country wether it is public figure, huge companies etc.. This is also in favor to the other Filipinos who are already in the field of the cryptocurrencies due to the influence of Binance Exchange.

2.)Filipinos can easily buy cryptocurrencies

Due to the basic requirements of the Gcash for the account verification, this will give the new user to buy cryptocurrencies due to the less restriction of the E-wallet for the full verification. Unlike the other wallet coins.ph, they only accepts few Identification cards in able to verify your account. In this case, they were only few people that can hop on the financial digitalisation thingies. Well, Gcash is the only E-wallet that accepts simple IDs in able to verify your account.

3.)Filipinos can easily trade their cryptos to local currency

Here is the amazing thing. Many stores in the Philippines now is accepting cashout and cash in services for the Gcash users. I can feel that Maya E-Wallet and especially coins.ph are having some mini heart attacks right now. Ever since, coins.ph has no competing company that offers cryptocurrency services. This thing leads them to abuse their user when it comes to charge and trading fees. Maya started adapting cryptocurrencies these past months and Gcash follows. I'm sure that this will create a competition between them. Lets see who wins after Gcash implement their new Gcrypto services.

What to expect and what major cryptocurrencies that Gcash will going to accept in their wallet?

By relying on the market and the number of users, I bet that Bitcoin Cash will join the major cryptocurrencies to see in the Gcash wallet. This followed by Bitcoin ,Etherium, XRP I guess, Dogecoin ofcourse, Axie and SLP. Filipinos are the leading players of Axie Infinity and I guess, Gcash figured this out and they can give ideas on what kind of crypto token that they are going to accept in the wallet. How about you?
