From my opinion, if one is 'creating contest' , it is not supposed to be number of likes for that article but has to be only participation by users. Why? Because, I had seen many people are creating contest and making rules to subscribe for profile. You already gained subscriber from that contest i.e. no. of followers, so there is no need to likes for that contest.
