Some countries demonstrate a creative approach in the issue of one of the state symbols

There are over 200 states and territories in the world that have their own flags. In most cases, the national flag is a combination of multi-colored stripes, which reflects certain features of the country. But in some cases, the flags look different and they can be safely called not only unusual, but also beautiful. We talk about 10 such flags.

Bhutan

The flag of this small kingdom is hard to miss. Its field is divided by a diagonal into two equal triangles: yellow, symbolizing secular power, and orange, meaning adherence to Buddhism.

The white dragon in the middle is designed to emphasize the equality of the secular and spiritual principles, purity of thoughts, patriotism. Jewels in the paws of the dragon are the riches of Bhutan. The open mouth expresses readiness to protect the country from enemies. The composition, the detailing of the dragon drawing and the color scheme make the flag of Bhutan one of the most beautiful in the world.

Brazil

The Brazilian flag attracts no less attention. On it, in the center of the green field, there is a yellow rhombus with a blue circle inside. The circle depicts 26 white stars, collected in constellations. The circle is crossed by a ribbon with the motto of the country: "Ordem e Progresso", which is translated from Portuguese as "Order and Progress". This statement refers us to the saying of the French philosopher Auguste Comte, who formulated the credo of positivism.

Each star corresponds to a state and one federal district. Interestingly, according to the plan of the creators of the banner, the constellations are depicted as they would be seen in the sky over Rio de Janeiro by an observer outside the celestial sphere on November 15, 1889, when the independence of Brazil was proclaimed. Yellow and green are the national colors of Brazil, now symbolizing the country's natural wealth. Previously, these were the colors of the royal dynasties of Braganza and the Habsburgs.

Mexico

The flag of Mexico consists of three vertical stripes: green, symbolizing wealth and fertility, white, denoting purity of thoughts, and red, personifying the blood shed for freedom and independence. In the middle of the flag is the national emblem, which depicts an eagle eating a snake.

This symbol is reminiscent of an ancient Indian legend that tells how the god Huitzilopochtli told the Aztec priests to look for a place for the capital until they saw an eagle with a snake on a cactus. The divine will was fulfilled, resulting in the city of Teotihuacan. In its place, the Spaniards later founded Mexico City.

Kazakhstan

The flag of Kazakhstan looks very impressive: on a sky-blue background (the color of the god Tengri, who was worshiped by the Turkic peoples from ancient times), a golden eagle soaring under the sun disk is depicted. The solar disk with rays in the form of grain embodies well-being and prosperity, and the feathered predator - independence and movement forward. The traditional Kazakh pattern is placed on the left side of the flag.

Kiribati

Not every flag captures the geographic location of the country in the language of symbols. The more interesting is the national flag of the Republic of Kiribati. At the bottom of it are blue and white wavy lines, meaning the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the three island groups that make up Kiribati. The yellow sun indicates that the country is located on both sides of the equator, and the 17 rays symbolize the 16 islands in the Gilbert archipelago and Banaba Island. A large frigatebird (Fregata minor), soaring against a red background, symbolizes freedom.

Belize

This state, located in Central America, has a flag that combines 12 different colors, which pulls on a record. Its main part is bordered with red lines from below and above.

In the center is the coat of arms of the country, which depicts two men: a dark-skinned worker holds an oar, and a light-colored half-breed is depicted with an ax. Behind them rises a mahogany. The shield shows a ship and tools for logging, which is reminiscent of the times when the country was a British colony. At the bottom of the coat of arms is inscribed the motto Sub Umbra Floreo - "Under the shade we prosper."

Uganda

Images of formidable birds of prey are often used as state symbols of many countries. But the citizens of Uganda placed in the center of their flag an eastern crowned crane, standing on one leg and facing the pole. It is associated with peace and harmony.

The field of the flag consists of six consecutive colors of Africa: black (people), yellow (sun) and red (blood). Perhaps this is one of the most beautiful and unusual flags.

Cambodia

The flag of Cambodia depicts one of the most famous sights of the country - the temple complex of Angkor Wat, built in the 12th century and dedicated to the god Vishnu. His stylized white image occupies a significant part of the cloth. The white color was not chosen by chance, because it personifies the purity of religion (Buddhism and Brahmanism). The temple itself is a reflection of the universe and the divinity of power.

The red color on the flag is associated with the people, while the two blue stripes at the top and bottom represent power. So in one flag the triad "religion - nation - king" is expressed.

Nepal

The only national flag in the world that is not rectangular or even square belongs to Nepal. It represents the joined pennants of the two branches of the Rana dynasty.

The blue stripe along the edge of the flag shows the commitment of the Nepalese to peace, and the red color is considered the national color of Nepal.

In the image of the sun and moon, the hope of the people is encrypted that Nepal will exist as long as the heavenly bodies. The triangular jagged shape of the banner symbolizes the two peaks of Everest.

Russia

For many people, the most familiar, understandable and beautiful flag is their own country. Therefore, my selection is completed by the modern Russian flag.

There is no official interpretation of the colors of the state flag of Russia. At the same time, in the Petrine era, white symbolized freedom, blue belonged to the Mother of God, and red testified to the strength of the Russian state. Now one of the interpretations says that the colors of the flag mean freedom, loyalty and courage
