The Feeling Called Shame

2 32

Everything God made in us has its uses, I have at some point talked on the benefits of anger, I've at some point talked on fear, today I want to talk on shame. Would you count the feeling of shame as an all bad feeling, more like the world would be a better place without anyone feeling ashamed? Sometime I was walking along the road and saw a young man dressed so bad, he literally was holding his trousers as he bounces along the road, then someone saw him and said "he has no shame", in other words could the feeling of shame be a good thing as it helps curb our excesses, cause definitely as human our thoughts runs wild and the one thing that could help us remain sane could be this shameful feeling.

Yes, just a small amount off the Shame is used to keep the society in check. Already there are many stubborn people in the world, very stubborn to the level that they don't see the police cell as a punishment anymore. How then can we keep a sense of sanity in the environment is thereby attaching circumstances that could alter their image. People like to be self pleasing, when their mind have told them already to avoid this or that because the embarrassment it'll lead to would be unbearable, the humiliation is part of the reasons we avoid crimes, we sometimes don't care about serving the sentence.

Shame slightly similar to pain are not so good feelings but they are very necessary. Infact they help a great deal. Have you ever imagined a world where you don't feel ashamed, or have you met someone without shame before, what do you think? It might seem amusing but soon to be disgusting. Why do you keep doing that, have you no shame. Its expected that shame helps us keep ourselves in check, by ourselves knowing this thing isn't pleasant, it'll be so embarrassing to engage in, or this can get me into a bigger mess should I embark, and withdraw. Shame is bad, but it's a feeling that helps too.

One big difference between us all and the mad men in the streets are the feeling of shame. The lost all sense of shame, things you wouldn't do on broad daylight is what you can see them doing, mind you sometimes they do what you want to do but can't do. Some of us which we could just dance to that good music we hear as we are walking by, but you can't dance, it'll be embarrassing right, people won't think that you're only being expressive, they would quickly tag you as mad. So shame is part of our self imposed guidelines, it draws the border, one that helps us stay good.

It's also a punishment, this punishment is part of the worst kinds of punishment one can face, in fact the worst punishment can't be death alone, making someone feel this shame can be very suffocating, this is one reason why some kill their selves, the can't bear the shame anymore, it's gotten so deep that they see no need to keep living, the shame has eaten up all essences of living. It's takes a good wording, or good prayer to get someone who's in shame to start feeling good again, often times the have to bear the trauma till time forgets. So shame is a punishment, we need the small amount to shame to keep the society sane.

Shame also helps us to work hard to be better, it's the system the educational system uses to make us learn and work hard. Imagine putting a number of students in a classroom and at the end of the academic session, one student would emerge top and the rest follows in sequences, also another student would surely emerge last. It's not a good feeling, we know it's a serious comparison, like why would james come first and I am coming 5th, what does he have that I don't have, moreover we do play together and I appear smarter than him, all this gets us working hard.

Peradventure there is anytime you got into a heated arguement with your friend and he abuses you with something he has done or has gotten better than you, can you remember the shame, so bad I know. For days you might get praying that God turns the table around and puts you on top so you can go back and give them a piece of advice. This are normal life occurrences, sometimes more severe and heart breaking shaming, but it has it's way of helping us be serious about changing somethings about our lives. Everyday we wake up and know we have to work hard but we still find ourselves lazy, but that day you'll be shamed, it the day you take it seriously, why is that?

So shame isn't something to pray for. No I don't think anyone Hopes to be put to shame, however our actions would bring reactions, so we sometimes maybe insulted and shamed. Moreover there would always be something to insult a person with, especially when you look closely to the person. No one is perfect. But this shaming gets us up and more active, it gets us working and serious about putting an end to it. It may be Gods way of making us get serious with ourselves, cause Shame doesn't need anyone to force you, it makes you feel it to the point of changing.

Thank you guys for reading, Shame isn't good but it's a necessary feeling giving by God to put sanity in the heart of man. Stay loving.

I always feel shame every time I walk into a room full of people. I don't know probably it's because of the things I heard from other people about me. It actually loses my self-confidence. I'd rather be alone than be with many people. Words can be so traumatic but, it helped me somehow to improve myself better so I can be able to walk out of my comfort zone and face them without feeling shame about myself.
