Which is better? Modular or online?

In this pandemic, students cannot interact with one another because there is a risk of infection. That's why learning is affected to. They provide two ways of learning, the modular and the online classes.

The first one is the modular learning. It is when the students will be given some modules to answer at home. But for most students it will be hard because they have no one they can rely to and will study on their own.

You also have another option in learning this year, the online learning. The cons of this for student is they can ask their teacher in real time when they cannot understand something. Of course there is also a downside, all of you knows that our internet connection is not that fast and reliable. It can go wrong when it rains, or simply because of the reasons that some of us can't even explain then suddenly you will lost your signal.

So what do you think is better? Where do you think our students will focus more and learn more?

By the way thank you for some of my friends here who i talked about this topic and finally i wrote an article about it.

For me it is better if it is modular because they will give you your learnings for one week. And also specially here in philippines, there is a town that is very poor on connections for example: to the students who are studying from an island. And one also this will cost much load.

There is also another mode of teaching wherein there is a modules and an online interaction between students and teachers, or so called both in the mode given in your article. It is a blending type teaching that is called Flexible Learning. And what really saddened me is that not everyone is privileged to have smartphone or laptop and even to have unlimited and strong internet connection.

It will always depend on the environment, situation and economic status of the student. Actually, there are many strategies that DepEd try to implement depending on the locations of the studen: Pure online, Blended( Online &Modular), Pure Midular, Through government television and government radio station. But among the many strategies and modalities I choose the Pure Modular. Hindi ko na lang e explain Lods napag usapan na natin yon. Hahahaha

Students now are having a hard time to study; my knees and nephews are currently taking their online classes. Most of the time, I can hear them saying "Sorry teacher, I didn't hear what you said." As we all know, we had the worst internet service provider here in the Philippines.

A lot of students have no ability to buy a smartphone.without any smartphone they cannot connect with the online class.Again in our country the net speed is very low.Despite of in the village and rural areas,Network connection internet service hardly be seen due to the poor network services. So it is very difficult to do online classes for al the students

It depends on the student which will be better there is some people that was easily learn thru textbook while there is someone who is learning by asking. So it was depend on the student which is better for.

I guess both are ok, it depends on what is available for the students. Not all can afford gadgets to use in online class, so they prefer modules. In online classes , they also need to pay for the internet. And you should have a good internet connection for you to interact well in class.

As a student right know i prefer modular but it's to hard for me because i just study on my own theirs no interaction between us students and our teachers in the other side online class some students cant attend cause of no internet that's my opinion thanks.

That's a good opinion don't worry. Even though you can get modules for free. There is no one who can teach you to the things you can't understand.

Both strategies have advantage and disadvantages depending on the teacher and learner's setting. Modular will be more convenient to those who don't have internet connection or gadgets that can be used however, the learning content will be limited and they don't have the option to interact with their teacher and classmates from time to time if there would be some misunderstanding about the lesson. Online learning on the other hand is not really effective in our country given that we have really poor signals from our network providers plus not all learners can afford it. but the good thing is real-time interaction will be possible in this type of learning.

Very well said! But there are some other situation like what if the kid can't afford internet that's why he is forced to take mofular learning and he has no one who can teach him. Like his both parents are busy or gone.

Both ways have advantages and disadvantages. In terms of learning, i think online might be better but it isn't budget friendly whereas the modular way isn't costly though the amount of knowledge learned might be limited since the teaching mostly relies on their parents.

Very good point of view. I fully agree with you. But for the modular, what if they don't have any parent?
