We can say that flowers are like people... we can find similarities. Flowers can be confident, shy, good, bad, bright, or dark. Some are so full of themselves that they don't accept anything around them, i.e. other flowers. They want to be unique. Others, however, are modest and beautiful, generous in fragrance, industrious in flowers and buds, long-lived, i.e. they bloom from spring to late autumn, until the first snow... Marigolds!

We have a lot of desires and dreams in this life. I would most like to live by the sea! I don't know if it's the most wonderful thing in the world or if I would be happier if my life was by the sea. I am left with this nostalgia that I quench every now and then with a trip to the sea. #life #photography
Once upon a time, there was "la vie en rose", French for "life in pink"! I realize there was a life in pink. Now life is black and white. I'm left with a lingering hope that life will be colorful again soon. #life #black&white
This is the image I miss most when I'm away from home. My little yard, the flowers, and greenery. The sun at dawn that I can't see, I only see its rays. My pair of sandals. I live in an area with four seasons. That means several layers of clothing and footwear suited to the temperatures of each season. I like it best in the summer when I wear sandals. For me that means freedom! A little piece of freedom. What is your freedom? #life #photography #nature
Life at less than two years old is complicated and with a lot of desires, a lot of curiosities. We adults can't even imagine what can be in the head of a child who can't even talk yet. Or maybe he doesn't want to talk? #life #photography
An old house and a (relatively) new car. This pairing caught my eye as I walked down the street. The house, of course, much older than the car, was built between the two wars of the last century. Nor is the car, though it looks good, in the best shape, soon to be replaced by electric cars... The house, unfortunately, has been abandoned for many years and nobody has taken care of it. Somewhat the same happens to people, of course, some of them (us)!
Autumn is here but I find it hard to break away from the recently ended summer. The fountains are still throwing up water but we no longer feel the need to cool off near them. I think they will soon be turned off and taken care of to get through the coming winter which we don't know how it will be. Gentler on us or angrier. Considering that electricity and gas have become very expensive, we are hoping for a mild winter, at least like last year's. #photography #mytown
I'm impressed how nature, plants, birds, and small wild animals manage to survive in cities. I've seen squirrels and even a fox in my neighborhood. Waterfowl are in all the parks and not only there. These ducks live right in the center of town and seagulls are often seen sitting on the surrounding blocks. Of course, finding food more easily brings these birds and animals among the people. Fortunately, most people are nice to them, many even feed them. #mytown #photography
Old age, loneliness, and deprivation. Often these come together and it is very hard to fight these shortcomings. We see lonely people trying to do something, to overcome hardships with their small strengths but not giving up. The hectic and busy life in the big cities leaves little room to see these people who need to be helped. Who ask for nothing, who try to sell something for a few pennies. Flowers and old books that no one needs, now that they find everything on…
I love herbs, Mediterranean herbs with different flavors, used so much in the kitchen. I like to grow some of these plants myself and dry them so that they can be used in food preparation. I have succeeded with oregano and bay. The others I buy, until I can grow them in my garden.
Oh, my God! When I remember my most recent vacation. I can't believe it's only been a month since then. I wish many of our colleagues would understand that these once or twice a year vacations are short cheap vacations, I'm not a rich man who can spend a lot. Our culture places a lot of importance on vacations and that is why we prepare, save money well in advance to spend a few pleasant days somewhere far away from home during the summer. I love the sea and that's why all…
81 years ago, on this very day, 9 October, was born the man everyone will know and admire. John Lennon! A unique singer-songwriter and composer, he had a major influence on the music of the last century. Along with his bandmates, The Beatles. He was assassinated 41 years ago. I think this is the song to listen to now. LOVE! https://youtu.be/3G-qAKmACDE
The future is electric! I mean transport. For the elimination of pollution, for a green future for the planet. Big plans are being made to replace petrol and diesel cars with electric cars. All is well and good, but electric cars are still very expensive. That's why my fellow citizens started with something cheaper. The electric scooter. This can also be rented.
Last year I landscaped a small corner of my yard with succulents. Plants that grow in desert areas without water. That's why they have these shiny, puffy leaves. This ensures both the accumulation of water and the avoidance of water loss through transpiration. Theoretically, these plants are very resistant to frost and low temperatures. In practice, they did not last and last winter took a heavy toll on them, most of them died. I still have the photos to remember them by.
An image and a memory that fades as autumn moves towards winter. Obviously the less access we have to something the more desirable that something becomes! I love the sea but live far from it. The funny thing is that when I get to the sea I often forget to look at it, it's enough for me to know it's just around the corner, to hear the waves, to smell the salty air... A good reason to want to live another year, to go there again.
That's what I miss most, this sea of green. I can't have it in the city where I live. This is one of my childhood places. Very far away in years and distance. A place I see about once a year, when I go to my grandparents' house, to the house where I grew up.
Only two weeks ago autumn looked like summer. In the park, on the lake, a sailing competition. The competitors are children. The sailboats look very nice on the lake, especially in groups. I love these kids doing sports, especially a water sport in a city where there aren't many lakes big enough to allow it.
I think we have all suffered a lot from this pandemic and understand how much it has changed our lives. How much life has changed all over the world! I'm almost 70 years old but I've never seen anything like this in my life. I never imagined that such a thing could be possible and I treated with indifference and disbelief all the catastrophic movies about epidemics and killer viruses. Now, thinking about these movies I realize that it could have been worse! Of the many…
It's here! Autumn, rain, cold. I love to photograph and autumn is the favorite season for all photographers, because of the colors nature produces. I'm sticking with summer, fewer colors but also less rain. I understand the need for rain, but I don't like walking in the park wet as I used to in my youth. Now my old bones feel any dampness...
A short story told elsewhere reminded me of the high I reached for the sea. Greece and its island, Thassos. The location of this island in the Aegean Sea, less than 1000km from the city where I live allowed me to travel there. I have been three times and should have been five times but the pandemic has robbed me of this joy in the last two years. They say only the ox is consistent, I don't know why, but if it is true then I am an ox! I've made it my goal to only go to…
This is the sea I like. As wild and undeveloped as possible. I'm sure many of my fellow noisers who live by the sea are used to such images. However, most want for their holidays to stay in modern hotels with all the facilities and sunbathe in places full of umbrellas and sunbeds. I, who live in a big and crowded city am fed up with construction and crowds. A deserted beach, narrow as it is, with abundant overgrown vegetation. A beach where you can just sit with your…
That's what happens when love flowers and don't have enough space for them. I have a very small front garden where I try to put as many flowers as possible. Too many for the existing space, I know that, but I can't help myself. I am getting older and I am more and more attracted to gardening, to flowers.
I love light and color so inevitably I love Van Gogh. Van Gogh is one of my favorite painters when I think of the world's most important painters. It's almost unfathomable how he was able to produce so many superb paintings in the more than dire conditions in which he lived. It is said that he never sold a single painting during his lifetime and now his paintings are worth tens and hundreds of millions of dollars each. Perhaps his best-known painting is Sunflowers. It was…
The past is in black and white. To see the past, old age, and deterioration. In the park next to my house is a summer theatre. That is, the theater building remains, abandoned. The passing of the years and lack of care have caused this building, built 70 years ago, to deteriorate. I know it from my youth when it was well cared for. Now I went into this ruin and took some pictures. Black and white. #black&white #photography
The two extremes of life! The old one can still give some help, some support. The younger ones, the new one, taking her first steps. The extreme that is preparing to disappear, having done, as much as it could, to make life go on. The other extreme that is taking its first steps, that through its will and curiosity will make things go on, in a different way than before. This is life!
If we consider this alley as life and we have two choices. Left means city, modern life, cars, congestion, pollution, facilities. Right, which is just a park, means nature, beautiful, clean air, simple life. What do you choose? One side seems more attractive, but I think most people will choose what they don't really have, out of curiosity!
Did you know that cabbage can also be decorative? These are for sale in a florist. I've seen ingenious arrangements made with hundreds of cabbages in a botanical garden. Surely I have some photos somewhere but I don't want to look for them now, I would waste a lot of time. I'll find them at some point and they'll be posted here. Good old cabbage! It's such tasty food, it also has many health benefits and on top of all that, it's also very decorative. #photography #nature
After all, we have a good and beautiful autumn. Soft sunshine and the ever-brighter colors of the tree leaves. It seems to be the way the leaves say goodbye... On such a beautiful day nothing could be more pleasant than a walk in the park for the city folk. Those who live closer to nature have many more options for enjoying autumn. Even fieldwork and preparing for the coming winter... #photography
I have seen several posts of our Greek colleagues and this has rekindled my longing for this incredible country, Greece! I discovered it in my old age, five years ago and then I believed and promised myself to go there every summer, as long as I can still move. The pandemic has prevented me for the last two years from going there, to my dream island of Thassos. Now I can't wait for this winter that hasn't even started yet to pass and get closer to next summer, maybe next…
Autumn is here. For some of us. What does autumn look like? I think everyone has a representation, a model, an image. From a dry leaf to a golden pumpkin. Or maybe a fairy, as the people at this restaurant have imagined it. A restaurant in my favorite park. A restaurant I've never been to. Not even autumn made me want to go in there.
On my most recent walk, I had a totally unexpected companion. A cat was taking a walk along the edge of the lake. I don't know if cats are as good swimmers as dogs are. I have had dogs, some that hated the water and were afraid, terrified of the water. At different times, there was a collie and a pit bull. In between them, I had a dog that loved the water, a Labrador! That's how I know dogs are good swimmers, even the ones that were afraid of water managed to swim when they…
Kayaking on the lake. I've already told you about this park where, besides walking, there is also a lake where water sports are also available. I've already told you about this park where, besides walking, there is also a lake where water sports are also available. The problem with places where there is no sea... any place with water is used. Around this lake, in the middle of the city, there are various water sports clubs, especially for introducing children to water and…
I am reminded of the beginning of a song, "It's autumn again...", yes it is autumn again, like every year and we must make the most of what it has to offer. Beauty, calm and quiet after a hectic summer. On the other hand, there can be a saturation because of the many similar posts. I will try to diversify but I don't know if I will have the strength to ignore what is happening outside now. Especially since I don't know how long this beauty will last. #photography #nature
It is impressive how nature manages to survive in unfriendly places such as abandoned buildings. Not only surviving but even giving a special beauty to a mixture of bricks, mortar, and flowers. A building in the center of Bucharest, the so-called Old Centre. The area is under rehabilitation.
I once made a mistake in a dispute with a vegan lady and said I was a carnivore in a desire to say I liked meat. I received instant correction, said lady saying she could even see me, with sharp canines and tearing a poor animal apart. We humans, are omnivores, meaning we eat everything... For many of us, meat is the most important. For me, too, but lately I feel more and more the need for vegetables. But it's hard for me to break up with the grill ...
