A gunshot echoed again and then a few seconds later I heard something landed on our roof made of Nipa then bounced and fell to the ground.
I went out and checked for the thing that just hit the roof. I already knew what it was. Although some kids from the neighborhood owned a sling shot and used to hit a bird with stone, I would not think that it was.
Then just a meter from beneath the roof overhang, there was a half crushed lead slug on the ground.
The sound seems normal to my ears and the people in the neighborhood. We are all sure that it was from a gun although most of them don’t know what type of gun it was fired from. Why should we care?
I was only a kid back then and I know for sure where the sound came from.
The Businessman
There was a businessman in the neighborhood. He owns a hardware supply in our local area. Well most foreign businessmen from our place have this type of business. They were already here before I came into existence.
That foreign guy owns a Sarao jeep. He had two sons and two daughters who looked just like him. Squinty eyes and white skin. As though of a vampire because their house has tall walls about twenty feet high and enclosed as if a bit of sun rays was not entering their house. Sometimes I think if the design of their house was built for protecting privacy purposes or was that there was something illegal inside. We never know.
I once saw him pull the gun while he stood near his house gate. A revolver type of gun and repeatedly pulling the trigger while aimed to the ground. It was empty. He was just checking if the trigger was not jammed.
I was going home from an errand that time at about 6PM and the foreign man just arrived after closing their business establishment.
That was the first time I saw a person holding a gun even if he is not a member of the Police authority.

Do you have unforgettable experiences with guns? What would you do if somebody pointed a gun in your face?
Mistaken Identity 1
I have shared several real life stories about me having terrible experiences with people who have guns. The most frightening thing was when somebody pointed a gun at my face with distances of at least two meters. Then for almost ten seconds in that position the gunner pulled the trigger but pointed it down first and the bullet hit the concrete just a few inches away from my right foot.
I know I have shared that story here sometime ago, I just couldn’t remember the title post.
I don’t even know the guy and his intention why he did that. We were skateboarding with my friends on the pavement at around 10PM. Then suddenly that man appeared on a motocross motorcycle and fired his gun. For some reason he was agitated and like looking for someone. Probably the person headed in the direction of us. It was a mistaken identity.
I was frozen. I couldn’t move. My eyes were witnessing the event but my mind stopped functioning and wasn’t able to respond to the scenario. The gunner was already out of the scene before my consciousness resumed.
Mistaken Identity 2
It was a fine afternoon. I was sitting at the shop waiting for some customers. I saw two teenage kids sharing a ride with one bicycle. As I watched them approaching to pass by, a man on a motorcycle suddenly came and stopped the two teenagers then pulled his gun aiming at them. The scene was in the middle of the street.
This time it wasn’t me who seemed to be in trouble again with a gun. But the worst case scenario was that if the man pulled the trigger, I'd be dead. Why? Because I was watching the whole commotion and was behind the teenager who was about to be shot by the man. Again I was in a state of seeing things but not responding to take necessary action.
Then again it was a mistaken Identity. The man thought that those teenage kids were the ones responsible for stealing some cash in his club.
I don’t understand why some people can just easily point a gun to someone for whatever reason.
Are those guns licensed or at least did they have papers like permit-to-carry a gun? But even if it was, guns should not be used for confrontation so as to intimidate someone.
The problem with some people owning a gun is that they tend to feel powerful. And that they can just easily shoot someone they don’t like then run and hide or obstruct justice.
Those experiences were really traumatic for me. They are like nightmares or viruses that can’t just be erased from my memory.
I don’t know them and I don’t have problems with them.
But anyway I guess I was just lucky enough and no serious thing happened to me with experiences from people with guns.
Thanks for reading. Ciao!

I can't say I've ever had a similar experience as yours, and for that I have to be grateful. You are right in that too many people are in possession of guns but do not know the responsibility of owning one. It's been said that if you point a gun at someone, be sure to fire it. That's quite horrifying. But I think it is a reminder not to do so unless you only mean to defend yourself from harm. I pray you won't have any more experiences with a firearm in the future.
