It has been amazing to see the community come together to provide the tools needed to get funding where it is needed in the BCH ecosystem. One of the great projects that has rapidly built such tools is Flipstarter.cash. Flipstarter will soon have a funding drive to support Bitcoin Cash full node development teams, and we think this is a great initiative!
Flipstarter has already successfully got 20BCH in funding to the two EatBCH initiatives in Venezuela and South Sudan.
This is an opportunity for the Bitcoin Cash community to show that voluntary funding to the projects that deserve it can be a huge success. Not only that, but it is also a turning point for decentralised development in BCH.
Bitcoin Unlimited has decided to not submit a funding campaign. This is so that other smaller, newer yet also important dev teams such as BCHN, Bitcoin Verde, and BCHD retain the focus of the Flipstarter.cash funding drive. It is important that BCH establishes a more open, collaborative and functional decentralised development structure. BTC failed due to an over-centralisation of its development model, which led to a handful of developers implementing a rent-seeking model. They achieved this by artificially constraining the limits of the system and then selling competing solutions to fix the problem they created. The recent IFP crisis in BCH was likely also due to similar mechanics.

We will be doing everything we can to promote this new Flipstarter.cash funding initiative but of course what is most important is that the whole ecosystem gets involved in making as much noise as possible about it.
