You might be hurting your liver
One thing about internal organs is that we never know when they are about to breakdown since we can't see them the way we could mirror our face.
Isn't it quite ironic that almost everyone spend alot of money and time to look good on the outside without realizing that they might be dying inside?
Well, I don't think that the person/people one is trying to impress with one's physical appearance would be interested anymore if they get to see that one has a got a bad organ.
A doctor once said: "If people could have the opportunity to see their kidneys and liver just once and get to know the extent of abuse that they have been subjected to over the years due to an unhealthy lifestyle and negligence, then the they wouldn't care so much about how their faces and hair look anymore. Instead all energy and effort would be channelled towards salvaging what's left of the internal organs.
What is more mind-blowing is that some of the things we do just to gain the admiration of others could compromise our health.
It was only recently that I got to know that one could harm their liver by having a tattoo or piercings !
The chances of one getting hepatitis C rises through the use of unsterilized equipments because the virus maybe transmitted from an infected blood to another. The consequence is a lifelong liver disease which ofcourse could be life-threatening.
I wouldn't even begin to talk about the baked and packaged foods ( junks) that we all consume which contains a high amount of man-made fat. If you are observant enough, you would see where it is clearly written on the pack "partially hydrogenated vegetable oil". A food that is high in artificial fat not only increases the risk of obesity which results to a swollen and less active liver. It also leads to the replacement of the liver cells by useless fibrous tissues, a condition popularly known a liver cirrhosis.
Apart from the damages that excessive consumption of alcohol could do to the liver , soft drinks could also cause liver inflammation irrespective of wether they contain sugar or not. It doesn't matter if it's an energy or calorie free drink , because such might contain one or more ingredients besides sugar that could irritate the liver when consumed over a long period of time.
Also, just because it is natural doesn't mean it is hundred percent safe. Alot of folks especially from the rural areas have come to embrace traditional roots and herbs as a effective substitute for the pharmacy. The truth is that even if these herbal remedies could successfully cure an ailment, they didn't undergo the vigorous processes involved in purification and prescription unlike the drugs from pharmaceutical companies.
Hence, they could still contain alot of unfiltered active substances that could remain in the body system long after the ailment have been cured. And since detoxification is among the various functions of the liver, the liver continually works towards neutralising these chemicals from the body. Thus, the liver could be overwhelmed when there's a continual intake of such herbal solutions in large quantities. The resulting effect could lead to the untimely breakdown of the liver since it is always under stress.

Thanks for reading ππ
You said it well, if only we could access how our internal organs are, we would adjust to care for them more than the way we pet our seeable appearance.
Most times we only care for these organs when we have alarming issues...and that has been our normal way of living. It's just the way I haven't taken into consideration on my kidney's stateπ€¦
