During that time, Billy does everything he can to win enough charming publicity for both charming prisoners and enable them to perform on stage ...
The musical "Chicago", one of the biggest hits of 2002 and the winner of six Oscars (out of as many as 12 nominations), was conceived in the late seventies, after the Broadway hit of the same name by Bob Fose was staged. During that long period, many directorial and acting names were mentioned, including Miloš Forman, Baz Luhrmann, Goldie Havn, Madonna, Charlize Theron and many others. However, concrete moves and production came only when the then directorial debutant, but an established choreographer, Rob Marshall (later directed Memories of a Geisha), presented his own vision of the film adaptation to the producers. Marshall hired Oscar winner Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters) as the screenwriter.
The musical "Chicago" is a fluid, drinkable, intriguing and fun achievement from the first to the last second, and it also impresses by successfully combining theatrical and film elements into a perfect whole.
It is also important to note that all the actors danced and sang their own points, with some of them, such as R. Zelveger, having no dance or singing experience until then. Of the numerous awards and nominations, the six Oscars should be singled out (best film, best supporting actress - Zeta-Jones, art direction, costume design, editing and sound),
This movie is really worth watching.
