This small island country with the northernmost capital of Europe is still insufficiently explored for tourism and as such is a real gem for those curious adventurous spirit who are not fans of commercial travel. Incredibly integrated volcanoes and glaciers, geysers and waterfalls and beaches with white and black sand make the unique landscapes here unforgettable.
Iceland is a Nordic country located in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean. The nearest island, Greenland, is at a distance of 290 km, while the nearest continental part of Europe, Norway, is 970 km away. Iceland covers an area of 103,000 square kilometers and is the second largest island in Europe.
In addition to the main island, it also includes 36 smaller islands. With a population of about 350,000, it is the least populated country in Europe. About two thirds of the population lives in the largest, and at the same time the capital, Reykjavik.
A rare natural anomaly occurs on the cliffs of Lautrabjarg, the westernmost point in Iceland. Fog forms near the ground and descends through the cliffs like a waterfall!
An unusual natural phenomenon, which is not common or known in any way, was recorded in 2015.
Unexpectedly, a group of mountaineers came to the discovery of such a foggy formation, some of whom also carried cameras with them, thanks to which this scene remained permanently recorded.
The video was soon posted on the social network YouTube, and in addition to having a surprising number of views, it also garnered a handful of comments, from those who were stunned and delighted, to those who were terrified by the appearance, which seems to hint at an apocalypse.
The fog, which formed low to the ground, literally descended like a meandering snake over cliffs called Latrabjarg, which are located in the northeast of Iceland.
In the video from Iceland, apart from the strong wind, you can clearly see several "jets" of fog, which descend sharply to the sea.
The name of the cliff from which the fog descended is Dupadal, and the fjord into which it "poured" is called Breidafjordur.
This natural anomaly is thought to have been caused by a temperature inversion, during which the rising warm air trapped a large amount of the cold air that remained below.
Wonderful one
