Self Introspection
Some time ago I was looking for some references on how to do introspection. I really want to know the meaning and science of introspection. There are many references to the concept of self-referencing, but what caught my attention was Erwin Ariyanto's article, the following quote:
A ship that will sail definitely needs a guide. But it is no less important to always know the exact position on the high seas, because a small mistake can cause the ship to lose control and lose direction. That's our life. Periodically, we need evaluation. There are many facts that we must learn and get used to introspection. Reflect by knowing his personal shortcomings and weaknesses, so that he can develop to be even better. Introspection is necessary because: Processes are not always constant. Similar experiments do not always produce the same results. There are always limits and different points of view. Every problem has a point.
Everyone will never escape from mistakes, as a normal human being, you must have made mistakes.
But not everyone is aware that they have made a mistake, there are people who are not aware and even stupid with the mistakes they have made.
Before it's too late and you lose the precious people in your life. You have to introspect yourself, so you will become a better person.
Through introspection, we will be able to find the meaning of each goal we have and further confirm whether the goals we set previously were successful. Because we often see other people's mistakes and even criticize other people's mistakes, we realize that we also often make mistakes, through our own minds we can understand Knowing our strengths and weaknesses.
Introspection is also needed to look inside yourself, ask yourself if you have managed to get what you want, have your dreams come true, are you on the right track? . With introspection, we can see if we have done something, make changes for the better, realize that our actions are correct. Sometimes we fall into the trap of thinking "Relax, everything will be fine" / "I'm fine now" without ever really wanting to think about what's really going on inside of you.
With introspection, you can better evaluate our words, dreams, attitudes, actions and thoughts, and this has the potential to create better conditions in your life. What you say, think and do. That's what you get in your life.
Never hesitate to introspect, because you really need it, by examining yourself as if you were standing in a mirror, looking at yourself, and trying to be honest in your introspective thoughts, to get the right picture of yourself.
Remember that your mind will draw in more experiences to justify what you believe, not what you conceptualize as the driving force of your life. The best introspection is the most honest. Technically, the important thing is that we first know what is right, then we can find out which one is wrong, then how to do introspection.
1. Understand personal weaknesses.
Self-introspection begins with humility. Realizing that we are not free from mistakes or mistakes. Arrogant people don't want to do self-evaluations because they always feel right. As a result there is no personal growth, because only blame other people, situations or even God. Understanding the tipping point means having an attitude of alertness and anticipation. The ability to take care of oneself and be aware of situations before things go wrong.
2. Plan introspection.
When and what in us need to be evaluated?
First, before doing anything. There is a saying that people who want to build a tower will definitely take into account the budget. Introspection in terms of the initial steps that must be taken, how the plans and abilities or resources we have. Second, while doing something. Introspection is needed to prevent it from going any further if it turns out to be a mistake. Things that need to be evaluated are the methods and methods, assumptions and views, knowledge and expertise used. Anticipate critical points and take corrective steps if needed.
Third, after doing something. Experience is always the best master. Self-introspection is useful for corrective action or recuperation if something goes wrong. Or be a lesson so that later we do not repeat the same mistakes.
3. Expositions towards a better person. Self-reflection does not mean being judgmental or self-blaming. But a form of generosity to improve and develop oneself. People who find it difficult to do self-introspection tend to be on their own. Because personal maturity and maturity are born from openness to self-evaluation and self-development.
4. You can't live forever.
Life must move forward, before living forward must learn from the mistakes we make.
And no one can learn from their mistakes without doing some introspection. Therefore, do self-introspection so that we can learn from mistakes.
Introspection is looking within yourself. Well, at that time we have to be really honest to create the right introspection. And then start a new life, correct mistakes, and then think about positive things. So, make today a motivation to become a successful and good person by doing introspection.
That's my quote about self-introspection for my friends and especially myself, this method is good to try, because with introspection one can grow.
Good luck!!!
Where should I start to have self introspection?
