How Can I Help BCH?

Bitcoin Cash is a decentralized system and community. There are some really strong and compelling benefits such as no central point of failure but it also means that there is no central authority to communicate with nor is there one to delegate jobs and responsibility. Everyone who is interested in the success of Bitcoin Cash and economic freedom for the world has to do their own part to push the project forward. This is easier said than done though. Many people are willing to help but have no idea where to even start.

Long story short there are really 3 categories that you may fit into to varying degrees and will help you decide what your next steps are.

TLDR; Do you have skills, time, money?

You may have 2 or even all 3 but the next step you take will be decided upon by which of the 3 you are willing or able to put into BCH's growth.

SKILLS

They say it takes 10,000 hours to master something. Most people could dedicate 10,000 hours to any given topic but no one has time to master everything. Skills make you highly valuable and sought after, especially if you are a dev, in the crypto world. The industry is new and niche and no doubt your skill set makes you valuable enough to get a job at any number of high paying companies that may or may not be creating something interesting. There is of course no reason why you couldn't take that well paid job and make P2P cash for the world as your side hustle. It probably won't pay as well at least to start but you can be your own boss if you want. Similarly if you are a creator of some kind. Joining a marketing firm and pumping the latest token may increase the width of your wallet quicker but would you enjoy promoting something you do not believe in?

Would you rather make a difference in the world?

A real significant difference to the direction of humanity. This is not hyperbole. If Bitcoin Cash succeeds in its mission, the way the entire population of the earth exchanges value and trades with one another will be drastically different and hopefully much improved as well. You can be part of this change. Your skills can have a very real impact on the lives of billions of people. You can make a difference. You can leave the world better off than how you came into it.

The best place to focus your efforts will be a bit more difficult to decide. If you are a coder there are plenty of apps that need to be built and plenty of projects that could use a hand. Just ask in any of the major communication channels. If you are a creator, just keep doing what you do and share it with the community so we can help amplify you and your message. TIME

Time is your most precious resource. None of us know how much we have and you can not buy or create more no matter how hard you try. It is however a great equalizer. We are all mortal. If you have time to invest into making BCH money for the world, first of all - thank you, second it is probably the easiest way literally everyone can help. If you have special skills like programming or image/video/music creation that you can dedicate to BCH see the previous section.

If you are short on cash or skills but have free time on the subway or in line at the post office you too can contribute. You do not even need to create anything new.

Talk to people around you about BCH. Tell people about what you can do with BCH and why you like it.

If you operate any kind of business ACCEPT BCH and let people know you do by putting a sticker in your window and an image on your website.

Casually ask people you do business with if they will accept BCH as payment. Probably they will say no. But some may say yes, some may ask you to explain what BCH is and why they should accept it. At the very least it will make more people aware of Bitcoin Cash and if more people start asking/talking about it the less scary it will seem and the more comfortable people are with a thing the more likely they are to accept/use it.

Prefer merchants and services that accept BCH. Finding these businesses and people will no doubt take a bit of time to research and may be more effort than using your credit card or paypal. But will help the BCH cause by helping to create a BCH circular economy.

If you employ people offer to pay them completely or partially in BCH. This can have a similar effect as dollar cost average investing.

Join the conversation. Join Telegram. Join twitter spaces and live streams and talk about why you love BCH. Part of this means getting outside of the BCH bubble as well but joining BCH focused things is great too. A BCH live stream will be full of BCH lovers. To a large degree that is preaching to the choir. We really need to get the word out beyond our bubble.

Start a local BCH meetup. People all around the world are curious about what we are doing. Starting a meetup is actually easier than most think. All you need to do is install the meetup.com app on your phone and list a BCH meetup for your town. You do not need to prepare a presentation or a projector and slides. All you need to do is reserve a space at a local cafe (talk to the owner about accepting BCH while you are there) or the local library/city hall. People who are curious will come and then you just chat about BCH for an hour. That is it. If it gets popular you can start to think bigger but no harm in just starting small and answering peoples questions about BCH.

MONEY

Perhaps you are lacking the skills that will be the most effective or you are lacking the time to use your skills but have some amount of money you can use to help push BCH forward. If that is the case it is a matter of deciding where to invest your cash that will have the most impact.

It is indeed an investment. While you may not get returns like stock dividends or tokens, your help will hopefully add value to the BCH ecosystem and in the process will increase the utility and value of BCH the currency.

If you have a project or person that you think deserves support then by all means donate funds to them so that they may continue to do the work that you love. It may seem like nothing but even 10 cents adds up very quickly with enough people contributing. Also if we are successful in spreading the use and adoption, that 10 cents today could be worth much more tomorrow or next year.

What if you do not have a project in mind or need help deciding what projects are the best place to put your money? Bitcoin Cash is a proof of work system. Not only for miners but for people as well. It is really up to the individual to decide for themselves what project and people have the most potential or deserve the most help. Also something to be aware of is that there is no shortage of people who would love to help you spend your money. Projects and people who have been in the BCH space for a long time and have consistently delivered quality are generally a safe bet. Feel free to ask around to anyone well known in the space as to whom they think deserves the help. If 5/5 people you ask all recommend Alice and Bob, they are probably a safe bet. Money is great, but a lot of creators and artists love being recognized and appreciated for the things they make.
