Ramadhan is the month of practice for the next 11 months
Still in the mood for Eid. As we know, Eid al-Fitr is a celebration for Muslims who have been fasting for 1 full month of Ramadan. In the month of Ramadan, we don't just fast, we don't eat and drink. But we also increase other worship and other practices during the month of Ramadan. Such as tarawih prayers, reading the Koran more, giving alms, praying at midnight.
This means that we worship more than other months outside of Ramadan. Because fasting alone is not enough to get reward from Allah. But we do other worship because the month of Ramadan has been promised by Allah to be multiplied by the reward. Even in this special month, we are still lazy to worship or do not increase our worship. That means, don't expect another month we will want to do it.
Now, the month of Ramadan is over. Has left us all. We hope that next year can still be reunited with the month of Ramadan. How have we been through the month of Ramadan together? Have we forgotten it? Do we still miss it? Was what we did in the last month of Ramadan perfect? Or is that nothing? Only worshipers who cry, are sad, miss the moment in the month of Ramadan. It feels like it's only been a day. Are we going to bring the atmosphere of Ramadan outside the month of Ramadan?
Ramadan month of practice
In the month of Ramadan, it is ordered for Muslims to fast not only to hold back food and thirst. The good that we do during the month of Ramadan gets rewarded and we have to take care of it. Fasting from being easily emotional and angry, fasting from giving, fasting from mocking and cursing, getting closer to Allah, reading more Al-Quran, filling a little activity for worldly affairs. We do this so that the fasting month is not in vain. We do it all, we try to do it because we remember fasting. That's what the fasting month is saying is a month of practice for 11 months of travel. What good we have done can we still keep it? If, we can't maintain it, then this fasting month or yesterday's Ramadan is just a formality
The month of Ramadan, the month of giving alms
Another good thing is that during the month of Ramadan, people compete to increase alms, give compensation to orphans, the poor, there are difficulties, we are diligent in sharing. How about after Ramadan is over, will we forget to help people in need? Are we going to compete according to our desires to eat at one restaurant to another? Will sponsoring also end? For many other reasons. We also give charity anytime, it doesn't have to be in the month of Ramadan
Small issue but very worrying
Another phenomenon that can make us afraid of our sins to God, especially to fellow human beings. There are things that are done as a Ramadan formality that actually use it as a business field to forget our obligations for this Ramadan. Busy pursuing worldly affairs so forget to collect good deeds during Ramadan. Can this be said to be the blessing of Ramadan or our passions are still in the future. When Ramadan we get used to it, force it so that it becomes a habit when Ramadan is over. Can this all become a habit? Can you, me and us keep it up until Ramadhan next year?
Don't repeat bad deeds after Ramadan
During the month of Ramadan, we know that we shouldn't do the slightest bad deed, for example, being annoyed, we will say "hey, don't be angry while fasting" if we are able to hold it in until the feeling of irritation disappears or subsides. Considering that we are fasting, if we do it, the loss of fasting, the reward is lacking and it doesn't even exist forever.
Just like a student when doing an assignment if he is not careful when he does something wrong. So, the value will be less, if you are careful to do it then the score will be good even though it is not perfect or can get a perfect score
This is what we strive for when fasting because according to Mr. Heri Kurniawan, a lecturer at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, a student of the Postgraduate Islamic Education Doctoral Program at the State Islamic University of Sunan Gunung Djati, Bandung, said via Republika.com. There are 3 levels of people who fast
Even though fasting is the same, not everyone has the same level of reward from Allah. Just like students do the same schoolwork but not all get perfect scores. The level of fasting based on the expression of al-Ghazali people who fast there are 3 levels, namely:
General
If a person only fasts by refraining from eating and drinking, but still committing immoral acts, then this is included in the first type of fasting. This type of fasting is practiced by most people. Therefore it is called general fasting (the majority). Because in general, they only understand fasting by refraining from things that invalidate the visible fast. The level of people who carry out fasting like this does not get (reward) anything from fasting, except only hunger and thirst.
Special
In contrast to the second level of fasting, in addition to fasting at the first level, it also prevents the ears, eyes, hands, feet and all members of the body from committing sins. Fasting like this is the fast of pious people. They know that fasting does not only restrain hunger and thirst, but refrains from committing immorality, as well as other vain and negative actions.
When fasting, they also keep themselves to always establish fard prayers, perform sunnah prayers, read the Koran more and give charity. Not doing backbiting (gossiping), namimah (fighting against each other), finding fault and exposing other people's disgrace, gossiping, slandering, and not spreading false news (hoaks) and so on.
Special for special
As for the third level of fasting, it is a very special fast, which is only done by certain people. In addition to fasting on the first and second levels, they also refrain from being humiliated in their hearts, thinking about the world, and thinking about things other than Allah SWT. So this model of fasting, the culprit always focuses his mind on always remembering Allah.
For those who fast in the second and third stages, then for him is the promised reward. They are promised that they will get forgiveness from Allah SWT, so that he will reach the level of a pious person as stated in the end of Surah al-Baqarah verse 183.
" O, you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may become pious "
What level are we at? All that only Allah and we know
Ramadan month of Education
If you mention the word education, it means that there is useful knowledge behind everything. Yes, Ramadan is the month of education. During Ramadan we are trained to discipline ourselves. From waking up in the morning, breaking the fast on time, praying, remembering to give alms. During fasting also train physical and spiritual health. Because during fasting we do not overeat if we overeat. Then, there will be indigestion. We, too, are tested in goodness, pious, strong, obedient, modest, speak polite and good language. We hope that the goodness we get during the month of Ramadan will make us better after Ramadan and that can only be had by people whose fasting is on the second and third levels.
