3 Irritating Ways Of Politicians When Campaigning

The campaign period for Presidential elections hasn't yet begun but it is now a hot topic since the filing of candidacy. There isn't a day that there is no news about these candidates. They have already dominated the whole media industry, including social media and newspapers. If it isn't on the news reported by journalists, then netizens who are supporters of these politicians just freely post some acts about their favorite candidates. Though it sucks to see these contents all the time whenever I open my newsfeed and television, I still think that it's a good thing that their personalities are exposed to the public. At least, through these methods, we got to know them more. Some of their good sides, the bad sides, and their personalities wherein neither good nor bad but still can instigate an irritation within us. From what I have observed, these are; **Ad hominem attacks** *This is a kind of attack in an argument that is directly charged against the personal issues of a person instead of formally addressing the person's standpoint in an argument.* I think everybody knows who are these personas in the government that uses this type of attack, *may they are campaigning or not*. Just like what happened to the ***Senate Blue Ribbon Committee***, instead of addressing their concerns directly and formally, they are body shamed instead by *You-know-who*. I think only desperate people who want to badly cover their tracks are the ones who likely tend to do this, but for some, maybe they're just not interested in dealing with the concerns. They also will just shame their enemies to avert the attention of the public from the main topic. When the heat of the issue subsides, they're saved since the public isn't interested in it anymore. **Littering** Campaign materials are good tools to let the public know about your candidate. It can help people remember your candidate easily just by looking at the colors, symbols, logos, and slogans that are installed and posted everywhere. There is nothing bad with this since it's not illegal anyway. *My only concern for this is that the candidates should be responsible to where they can only post their flyers, ads, posters, and they should also be responsible for the litter they left after each of their events.* It's been viral on the internet lately that the campaign materials of a certain presidential candidate were torn down by the different local government units in different places around the country. The funny thing about this is, the candidate and the supporters got angry about the news. I mean, I understand their sentiments that they paid for that from their pockets, but I hope they have been responsible for the litters they made and left. They tied ribbons on railings of bridges, on plants, electric posts, and establishments. Their confetti had just been blown by the wind on the streets after their caravan. They didn't even bother to help the street cleaners to clean the mess they made. Maybe it's fine if it is just a few of it, but imagine cleaning the mess on the street for a few kilometers. *Isn't it a hassle and abusive?* **Using God's Words In Vain** This is the most hateful act of all means. If you watch interviews on TV, you might know who I'm talking about. The one that uses bible verses in his speech every time. If that *you-know-who* can't answer the point correctly, then the phrase, ***"According to the bible..."***, is the common getaway to the awkward situation. Then constantly talking that maybe it is God's plan for that *you-know-who* to run in the race of politics. In the first place, religion has nothing to do with the law because the church is separated from the government. This is according to, **THE 1987 CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES – ARTICLE II, SECTION 6**, which states that,

They should respect religions and beliefs, not use them in politics. They are using it in vain at their free will, urging the people to vote for them just because they show off that they are religious. ***As a Christian, that is insulting.*** They should just get out of the politics if they don't have enough knowledge about the law and don't know how to counter attacks concerns to the point without using God, the bible, or any religion. That's it! 🤦‍♀️ *Have you noticed all of those things I mentioned, too?* These politicians are stressful than the red market on crypto. I'm hoping that they would not be elected next year.
