We cannot please other people, the more you earn and garner things to heighten up your dignity the more they search every little mistake you make in order to bring you down.
Christians do fail sometimes...
Recently, I checked my messenger account to read a couple of unread messages, and then I saw an unusual conflict in our Church's main group chat exclusively for church members only. There, a member open up an issue about gossips and misunderstandings, it caught my attention and just observe the whole conversation. Our church leaders and pastors immediately made a step to respond the said issue in a calm and delicate way, and thank goodness it went well.
These words from my co-church member hits my unconscious mind. Though short yet concrete and concise. In english translation "Fix your eyes unto the Lord, not on men for you will stumble".
Christians and unbelievers are both sinners who we're saved and loved by God. The only thing that differs is how they live and carry their lives as well as their foundation of their beliefs.
I am not knowledgeable on these things but please allow me to express my own perceptions and thoughts regarding with this matter.
At a young age, my dad taught us about spiritual exercises such as praying, Bible reading, and going to church during Sundays, giving praise and thanksgiving to our omnipotent God. Time passed by, I realize that doing those activities are useless if you only do it as a responsibility or just a mere routine, and the fact is, God is against in that kind of action.
Before labeling myself as a Christian, I became deeply aware and conscious to my actions. I make sure that I possess Christ-like character and the actions that I've shown are transparent and pleasant in the eyes of others, aside from that I am doing such adjustments and I disciplined myself to be worthy of being called a Christian. But sad to say, it was never enough to resist the fate of sin. To be exact, death is the price of sin that we need to pay, yet TAKE HEART! Jesus paid that ransom already.
You see, If you are a Christian all eyes are on you, a little mistake will results a huge issue, and those kind of people are making a fuss to ruin your whole being due to jealousy or selfishness and take note they are everywhere that is why we need to be vigilant. On the other hand, we should not let those judgments and negative feedbacks consume us because in the first place our IDENTITY is in CHRIST and we don't need their approval anyway. So the only way we could do is to pray and love our enemies because Jesus told us to do so.
Closing thoughts;
If you are a born again Christian always keep in mind that you should fix your eyes on Jesus due to the reason that, if you keep on observing those people or even fellow Christians around you they could trigger the possibility of your failure in your service to God and worst it may lead you to backsliding. Remember we chose to serve God because we made a promise to dedicate our lives to Him, and that would be enough to remind us that our cares should focus on God alone.
People may judge your shortcomings more than your good deeds, but God is not blind to look on your efforts, just take this positively, He disregards our mistake and all He cares now was our heart and our ways on how we conquer and work on our mistakes.
To conclude, if we tend to step on the pit of transgressions instead of consuming ourselves from guilt, self-pity and shame, better to draw more closer to him and ask for a sincere forgiveness and humble yourselves unto the Lord because He will not abandon you nor forsake you.
Friendly Reminder:
We ought to worship and serve God rather than men!
