Why We Shouldn't Be Envious of Other People’s Life
Despite how negative this concept is, we can’t deny the fact that envy is very rampant whenever and wherever we go.
In reality, not all people feel happy with everything we have or even our life itself. They feel envious, not because they hate what we have, but because they want it themselves. They hate us for living the life they want, and that will raise our brows because it’s not even our fault.
When we feel envy for someone’s life, that’s surely bad. It’s never good and right to feel such feelings because the one you envy is not doing anything wrong, they’re just living the life they want for their own selves, not to feel you bad.
Envy is a destructive emotion that will soon lead to anger, resentment, and low self-esteem. With that, if we feel that way, we will be soon devoured with negative thoughts that will soon hinder us to pursue the path of genuine happiness.
We may feel happy if someone we hate meets a downfall, but it will never be genuine at all and karma will come on our way to take revenge.
ENVY and CONTENTMENT
Many of us believe that in order to be happy, we must be content with everything we have. Though, it’s never been bad at all to dream high and work for it, being contented here means embracing the life we have instead of being envious of someone’s life.
Being envious will lower our confidence as well. As we compare ourselves with others, we have this question within ourselves saying “why am I not having the same life as them?” But in reality, no one’s alike among us people. We’re all living a different life, and our uniqueness makes us originally beautiful individuals.
Envy will lower our self-esteem and negative thoughts dominate our mind to think badly about our life. But with contentment, we will learn how to be grateful about everything we have, and feel happy about it no matter what.
Envy will just make us feel bad about everything we have. We will never appreciate how good our life is if we keep on comparing it with others and feel envious all the way. Instead of taking envy in a negative way, make it a motivation to improve ourselves as well. Grow in a graceful manner by clapping on other’s achievements, as we work on to achieve our dreams in life too.
HOW TO LET ENVY GO?
The answer for this is quite simple yet difficult to apply for strongly envious people. As soon as possible, if we realize that we’re slowly hating other people for having something we don’t have, prevent that feeling by seeing the good in us. Reflect about the things we have instead of being jealous of other people. Just be happy about what they have because they’re not actually doing something wrong to make us feel bad. And if ever that they’re boosting about it to make us feel envious, let them be but don’t ever feel envy.
The best revenge we can have in this situation is to just be happy about what they have, and feel the same way about what we have. In addition, make those people a motivation to strive more and achieve success eventually in God’s perfect timing.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Don’t let envy hinder us towards the sweet triumph. We have our own life that is full of satisfaction and surprise. We may not have it now, but soon we will. Just be diligent, patient, and happy with our current progress. Others might be celebrating with their triumphs now, but there’s nothing to be envious about. We will soon get there in the perfect time, in God’s will.
