The Center allowed the export of onions stuck in various ports due to government restrictions. Sacked sacks of onions were stuck in the port. In this case, the ban was relaxed considering the financial loss of the traders. This exemption has been given only for onions stuck in different places on the way to export. Bangladesh is in trouble as the Center has suddenly banned the export of onions due to the fire price of onions in the country. Sheikh Hasina's country is largely dependent on onions imported from India. Following the Centre's directive on Friday, relief has returned to Bangladesh.

According to sources, Bangladesh has been allowed to export 25,000 tonnes of onions on an emergency basis. A source in New Delhi claimed that India had allowed the export of onions to Bangladesh despite the embargo as a sign of strong friendship.

Since last Monday, the Center has imposed a ban on onion exports to Bangladesh and other countries of the world. In this situation, 250 trucks of onions got stuck on different roads of India waiting to enter Bangladesh. From the time of loading till 9-10 days, the onion has started to rot due to excessive heat and rain. If the stuck onions are not exported, the importers will suffer huge financial losses.

How many trucks of onions are stuck in different land ports if there is extreme anger in the business community?

The Union Finance Ministry has asked the concerned departments to report it immediately. This decision was made after that.

The central government on Monday imposed a ban on exports of all types of onions produced in India as onion prices have been rising steadily over the past few weeks. The list of bans also includes 'Bangalore Rose' onions. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade called for immediate implementation of the guidelines. Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram varieties of onion produced in India are the most exported. These two types of onions are covered under the guideline.

Onion yields in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have been hit hard this year due to excess rainfall. Due to the accumulation of water in the cultivated land, the onion of the land has been destroyed. Which has affected the domestic markets. Onions were sold at Rs 3,000 per quintal in the wholesale market in Delhi on the day of the ban. On August 26, the price of onion was Rs 1,200 per quintal.

After the price of onion almost tripled, the government was forced to impose a ban on all types of onion exports. Onions have been sold at Rs 70 to 80 per kg. The guidelines called for an immediate halt to onion exports from India to all countries, including Bangladesh.

India is the largest exporter of onions in the world. 2 million tons of onions are exported from India every year. Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia and Sri Lanka are heavily dependent on Indian onions. Once again in September last year, India abruptly stopped onion exports. Due to which onions became the price of fire in the market of Bangladesh overnight.

Haroon Ur Rashid, president of the Healy Land Port Import-Export Group, said that if the onion-laden truck wagons now parked at various ports were not allowed to enter Bangladesh, most of the onions would soon rot and the onion traders of the two countries would suffer financially.

Rajendra Sharma, general secretary of the Azadpur Mandi Potato Onion Merchant Association in Delhi, said the ban on onion exports due to fire prices in the country's market was a good decision by the Center. Onion production in South India has been hit this time, leading to a shortage of supply in the market. Sharma thinks that just stopping exports will not fill the market gap. Besides, the center has to think about importing onions. According to market experts, 30 per cent more onions were exported between April and July this year than in other years.
