Hello Friends..
How are you? I am fine..
I am writing a new story.
I hope you like it
About a month before the HSC exams, a teacher from an infamous college in Ajpara Gai went to a famous college in the city and challenged, "Have any of your students targeted to be first on the board this time? Tell him, if you want to be first, don't take the HSC exam this year." , Will be first on my college gouranga board this year. "
However, this Gouranga failed the HSC examination from the Science Department of a reputed college in Dhaka for two consecutive years. He came to this village college for the third time and got admission in Commerce. It is really a challenge to challenge such a student to be first on the board. Today I will tell the story of why that teacher showed such defiance.
Gouranga Debnath was born into a wealthy family. His father had a lungi business, with 30 employees. The cruel irony of fate is that his father died before he could cross the boundaries of the primary. His elder brother, who is studying in Inter, could not sustain his father's business despite hundreds of attempts, the day of their misery began.
After getting up in high school, his mother decided to send him to his uncle's house in Cox's Bazar as homelessness was increasing day by day. But he did not have the pants to go to another city later. He bought an old pair of pants from a friend for 10 rupees and left. Fate did not help him there either. He came back after that terrible cyclone of 1991.
Then he came to a high school in his area and got admitted. He was so good at maths that math sir used to do math on the board with him. He passed the 5th grade with the highest score of 698 in his school in SSC. I wanted to be admitted in Dhaka College But to apply to Dhaka College that year, a minimum of 600 marks was required. He went to the college and begged for help, but to no avail. Later he was admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy College in Old Dhaka.
After being admitted to Suhrawardy College, he realized that this college was not for the poor like him. There are no classes here. Everyone covers private reading. Gauranga told his brother, "Send me to the village with TC from here, or teach me privately." Then the elder brother told him, "I will not go to your village. I will study here. I will give you private, but for a month. In the meantime I will do whatever I can."
He did not take the class and only took one month private exam. That's what happened. Surprisingly, Gouranga failed so well in mathematics. It was decided from home that he would no longer be taught. Rather, working will help the family. But he will read. Thus it took six months to make the decision. He started preparing himself for giving HSC for the second time. But Bidhibam, the next time he failed.
At that time, there was a rule that if you did not fail three times in a row, you could not get the papers from the college. Gouranga decided that he would go to the village and get the papers anyway. Asked for advice by a college employee, he said, "Many people will ask for money when they go to the office, but it won't work. Instead, if you bring a signature from the board, I will hand over the paper."
He arrived there half an hour before the office opened. An application in hand. After hearing all this, the officer said, "There is no rule for taking papers like this. Give me another test, if I pass, I will do it, and if I don't do it, I will still be able to take papers."
Shravan's sky began to weep profusely that day. He came out of the officer's room and stood outside. At around 11 in the morning, an officer saw him and entered the office. He came out in the afternoon but saw him standing still. Hearing everything, his mind melted. He requested the officer to sign.
The real twist of the story is waiting then. It will cost six hundred rupees to come to the village and get admitted to the college, but you will not have to pay any more from home. At that time a rich friend from the same neighborhood came forward. He paid five hundred rupees to Gouranga for admission in the college. Regarding this money, Gouranga Dada said, "I have done a lot for many from my own position. But I have not been able to repay that five hundred rupees loan even today. I will never be able to."
As he walked down the street, the children of the village would laugh at him. Classmates used to call him "Adu Bhai". His habit of sitting on the first bench for life. He also started sitting on the first bench in college, but when he saw her on the first bench, his classmates would not sit on that bench anymore. One night after college for about 15 days from home, he sat down to eat and his elder brother told his mother not to give him rice. Let him eat the ashes. "He decided not to stay at home anymore ও even during this difficult time, a college friend and an older brother in the area encouraged him.
At the request of a sir of the college, he arranged for lodging. At that time, he used to teach the children of the house twice a day and take classes in college. Apart from these, he used to study for 10 hours a day. He didn't go to bed until 10 o'clock. Within a few days, he realized that the financial situation of the house was not good. Just keeping Sir talking, he kept lodging him. So one day he left that house
This time he went to the house of one of his girlfriends. They had a two-story house. He used to study from a room there. Meanwhile, the people of the village continue to spread various slanders. As a result, he had to leave the house. This time he fell into the abyss. The college authorities requested for a seat in the hostel, but there are no vacancies in the hostel. Later a class was arranged by managing the classmates in such a way that I would be out all day, only to have a little place to stay at night.
The thought of staying came to an end. This time the thought of eating began. It used to cost 10 rupees to eat in a hostel. But he didn't have a clue. There was a time when he drank only water for two or three days. There was a cousin's house near the college, he used to go to her house after two or three days. The sister used to let him eat because his brother was coming.
At that time, for the welfare of a teacher, he got a tuition five kilometers away. The elder brother of the student lives abroad, he will pay 500 rupees per month. Gouranga took this opportunity. This time he started eating at the hostel at once, saving the rest of the money, if ever tuition is gone, so that he can go for a while. A river used to fall on the way to the student's house, and it was necessary to rent 2 rupees from the bank of that river. He used to take a towel to tuition. He used to take a boat to the river bank, but on the way back he used to swim. Listen to his face, "I used to swim because if I didn't get on the boat, I would save 60 rupees in 30 days. And if I had 60 rupees, I would be able to eat that day."
During the time he was in the hostel, he never ate breakfast. Friends used to say, "The doctor forbade me to eat in the morning." When friends ate, he would go out.
Despite so many obstacles, he continued to do well in college. Unfortunately other meritorious students were given scholarships from the college but he was not given, because he is a failed student. At the request of a teacher, the college authorities were kind to him. As a result, he no longer thought of eating.
The test is over. In the meantime, one of his sirs went to the outer college and came with the announcement of the first paragraph. Then he called her and said, "Gouranga, I have been saying this. You keep my values." Sir's words affected his mind. Now he has no worries of staying, no worries of food, no tuition. He started reading 22 hours a day (!). Yes brother, just read, 22 hours! He slept for one to one and a half hours and read the rest of the time. If it would be a waste of two or three minutes to go and get food on boarding, the maid would go to her house with food!
Only 3-4 km from home. Despite being away, he went home only twice in those two years. Once upon hearing the news of the mother's illness, another time to meet the mother the day before the test. Besides, he used to go to the next market from time to time to find out about the house. Already last year his younger brother finished seventh on the Comilla board at HSC. Gouranga always worked on his head, at least to get better results than his younger brother. In this situation, the day before the exam, when his mother said, "I will do the result, so that journalists like this come and take pictures", then the determination to be the first became even stronger.
His younger brother helped him by collecting many books from his friends. The incident a few days before the test. Sir called him and asked,
- There are 55 questions in such a book, have you read all of them?
- I read at 54, sir.
Sir then angrily slapped him twice.
- Sir, there will be 10 questions in the exam, you have to answer at 5 o'clock. In fact, I have 9 questions in common.
Sir then said with another slap, "This too must be memorized."
The test started as usual. Gouranga's seat fell on the last bench. He came and cried to the magistrate, "Sir, I cannot take the examination without the front bench." The magistrate changed the seat and came to every examination to look for him. He told Holguard not to disturb Gouranga! You will be surprised to know that on the day the results of the examination came out, the magistrate himself came to their college just to know the results of Gourang.
At that time, there was a rule that the first person on the board would be interviewed on BTV on the day of the result. A few days before the result, Gouranga went to his sir's house in Dhaka. The night before the result, he ironed a good shirt so that he could go to the interview later. Think once, how much confidence!
He went out in the morning on the day of the result. When you come home, you can see in the face of Sir's wife that he has become the eighth. His mind became completely bad. Ektupar Sir called Gouranga and said, "You have set my standards, you have been first on the board." He couldn't believe his ears. Sir's wife was surprised and said to Sir, "So you said that Gouranga is eighth?" Sir's reply is bound to make your body tremble. He said, "I didn't want Gouranga to be the first, let him hear it from someone other than me!"
There is still a bit of story left. After that he was admitted in the management department of Dhaka University with only 25-26 days of preparation. That was in 2000. A math book on management has been taught since 1974, with no solution. While he was in his second year, he came up with a solution to that math book. The book had complex topics such as integration, differentiation, etc., which are not usually read by commerce students. But there was a stubbornness in Gouranga's head that I had failed in mathematics! I'll take a look at math!
The gouranga that used to swim in the river to save only 2 rupees, then started earning lakhs of rupees a month just by teaching privately. He taught 150 students, 50 of whom were free. Because, he has understood the crisis of money in life very well. After completing his Honors-Masters from DU, he brought his degree from London at his own expense.
He then joined Daffodil International University. After teaching there for a few years, he went to India and did his PhD. He is currently working as the departmental head there.
There will be only one request to those who have read this long article for so long, never be disappointed in life. Whatever the Creator does, He does for good. Your job is just to work honestly. This is what Gouranga Debnath was saying, "If I had passed for the first time, I might not have been in this position today."
There will be ups and downs in life. Those who are able to reach the desired goal beyond these, will be successful. Their names will be written in shining letters in history. And if you give up, you will sink into the quicksand of failure. Life is yours, the decision is yours. Think about it, will it be history? Or get lost in the abyss of darkness!
