An Interview With My Late Dad: Part Two

0 17

If I had powers I will use all of them to bring all our dead loved ones back to life again. Because am very sure we miss them all so very much and wish they never died. But that is the life we find ourselves in death is inevitable.

I want to have a very long and deep chat with my dad, I have like a million things to ask him and tell him to, I miss him.

This is the second part of An interview with my late dad, and let's see what he might respond to this time. So let's dive in and get started.

WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT THE HOUSE YOU GREW UP IN AND WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT IT?

Is their family house, so my dad grew up in a family house and they had every kind of fruit in the house, just name them mangoes about four different varieties, cashews, guava, oranges, and avocado tree and they had this fruit that was kind of sour but sweet at the same time I don't know the name of fruit but it was my favourite then whenever we went to my village with my Dad.

And there are a lot of graves in the house of about Six different generations, from my great great great grandparents, so the house is fun but scary because it feels like a graveyard to me at night 🌚 . And if you remember https://read.cash/@Adobe01/an-interview-with-my-late-dad-part-one-39d8a35e

my previous grandfather is a traditional doctor so after his death, no one was allowed to stay or use his room (which is a traditional thing they do at home there). So his room is more like an archive presently, with pictures of almost every single family member who was born in that family. Why does he like it probably because of the fruits hahaha just one of the things but am sure it will be his father's room that is his favourite.

HOW ARE YOU MOST DIFFERENT FROM YOUR PARENT AND GRANDPARENTS? HOW ARE YOU THE SAME?

My Dad loves watching movies, surprised right? I remembered there were days When his off from work and morning to around midnight we will be watching movies together and don't get tired of it. I don't know whether his parents or grandparents liked it too or hated the idea but that should be one thing that makes them different. I don't know whether this is all dads in the whole world but I think mine knows every single word in the dictionary.

The pictures of all my grandparents that I have seen are all very tall maybe that is where I got my tallness too, my grandfather was so tall that he was called 'dogo' which means someone tall, that is something including myself that we all have in common.

My Dad likes late-night fishing, am very sure he learned that from his Dad that is something they have in common too. And there is this traditional meal that he likes, where am from there is a traditional way of cooking water leave that is different and only my dad and mom can get it right nobody in our house can ever get it the way he likes it and am sure his mom ( my grandmother) most have been cooking that for him that's why he loves it so much.

WOULD YOU ALLOW ME TO DATE, IF I TOLD YOU THE GIRL I MAY BE IN LOVE WITH?

"NO"

"That is your final answer": I asked him again.

His reply; "No, you can't date, until when you are well established"

His idea was that a man needs to be able to take care of himself first and is well settled first before he will be able to have a girlfriend. And I think he is right, you need to take care of that woman you love you know, will you be asking your parents for money before you take good care of your woman, I don't think so. He will want to guess the ladylove in had in mind ages ago hahaha.
