Here is one of the stories he told us that night. 👇👇
There once lived a wealthy man whose name was James who had a wife and a little girl named Kemi. He was a palm wine tapper, His family was known as the best palm wine producer, it was a generational business right from his grandfather to his father and to him. People come from various cities to buy palm wine from him.
Despite the man being rich and famous he had a shortcoming. He maltreated his wife, why? Because she couldn't bear him a son. Why does he he have to maltreat her because she bore him a daughter instead of a son. He believed only a son can inherit his wealth and properties, and continue the palm wine making when he dies.
He would beat her everyday and threaten to marry another wife if she fails to give birth to a male child. The wife neither got pregnant again not to talk of giving birth to a male child. This made the man furious and he married a second wife. The second wife got pregnant and gave birth to a male child. The rate at which the man maltreat his first wife increased, that she could no longer bear it again. One night she packed her things and left with her daughter.
Years later, the daughter has grown up to be an educated lady. She was sponsored by a God sent man who saw the mother and her child on the street years back. James on the other hand is tired of life already. His son has caused him a lot of trouble. He wasn't brought up well by both parents. They pampered him as the first born boy and as the heir to their properties. The boy was rusticated from school due to his hooligans lifestyle. He became moved around with bad boys, he would steal his father's money to smoke and do hard drugs. It became an addict that he couldn't do without it. At time came that he got seriously sick. When they took him to the hospital, the doctors said they he had a heart disease and would need a surgery else he was going to die, and for the surgery to be done, they would need a sum of 7 million naira. James had to sell all his palm wine, but he still couldn't afford more than 2 million. He had to sell his palm kennel farm (knowing he won't be able to make palm wine again) and some of his properties. At last he made up to 6 million naira and begged the doctor in charge that all he could afford was 6 million.
They took pity on him and made the surgery. The surgery was successful and the boy could live his life again. Now everything is gone, his generational business palm wine tapping is gone, his properties are gone. All they had left was a house over their head and their clothes. Another palm wine tappers has taken over the his business, people from city now go to the new Palm wine tapper to get palm wine.
A week later, the whole community have heard of the new company that was being built on the farm James sold. Within two (2) months they completed the construction of the company.
On the inaugural ceremony of the company. Mr James and his wife heard the sound of a car close to their home, his son went to open the door, and behold who he saw, kemi coming out of the car. James and his wife were shocked and surprised to see kemi.
Then kemi said " I just came to invite you to the launch of my new company that I built over there. I was the one that bought your farm"
Mr James began to weep, and asked where her mother was. Kemi called her mom out of the car, as she walked towards them, both Mr James and his wife went on their knees and began to beg kemi and her mother for forgiveness. The same woman and daughter they maltreated back then.
After several minutes of begging, Kemi said she has forgiven them and told her mother to do so as well. She forgave them also and told them to stand up. She then said " I intentionally told my daughter to buy your palm kennel farm from you, not because there was no other land she could buy, but to help your son live, and also to teach you a lesson that, not having a male child doesn't mean a female cannot inherit property. Now where are the properties you want your son to inherit? It's all gone. But here I am with my daughter, she's one of the biggest women in the city.
Kemi called her driver to bring a bag full of money and handed it over to Mr James. She said" there is 10million naira in that bag, use it to take care of yourself and make sure your son goes back to school.
They all thanked kemi and her mother. Kemi then said "what a man can do, a woman can do better" as she left with her mother.

It's a great lesson for every man who always thinks negative about female child.It's an as usual story in a rural area but some city people also think the same one.In this 21st century it will be like an illiterate task to discriminate between male and female.
