Almost all of the leading cultural organizations have drawn up elaborate programmes to celebrate the day. TV will telecast various programmes to observe the day, National dailies also bring out special supplements to observe the day. Students and teachers of the institute of Fine Arts (FA) of Dhaka University bring out a colourful procession carrying festoon placards posters, banners and wearing masks to welcome the Bangla New Year. Urban people try to keep a while away from their memory of western culture and try their best to be Bangalee by doing our traditional things on this day. But in the villages, people wake up early in the morning and wear traditional dresses.
