Ho there Fellas. Itβs me cryptonoob with another short post ππ So are there any people here who love watches? My watches I mean like real mechanical automatic movement watches. If yes what are some of your favorite watch brands? For me I am a die hard fan or Rolex. I am also a collector, my collection is relatively new and small but I plan to grow it in near future.

You know swatch group owns many of the big watch brands. Was your watch automatic or quartz?
I had automatic n quartz before
I doubt watches are still hot. The only one I have is one counting my steps,blood pressure and heartbeat and if you ask me it's slow or a lazy one.

Hi, my bad I will read the rules. But I think mechanical watches are a piece of fine engineering and smart watches will never take over their markets
Still in love with the old mechanical watches and the skeleton watches that show the mechanism of the watch inside. But as for watches, of course rolex is a given. I also love seiko though. It's a japanese brand. And swiss army. That's where i first saw skeleton watches
Yeah sieko and grand sieko are also very popular among watch enthusiasts and collector. Rolex is considered as the best marketed watch brand in the world
Well seiko for its quality and sturdiness. And that's really a win for me. Rolex because... well it's gold- like literal gold and precious metals that could put any piece of jewelry to shame ;-;
True but some of the professional series watches by Rolex are also very precise and rugged
The professional series is in a league of its own though so i don't think comparing it with the newer series and other watch brands is just rude UmU
True. I bought a GMT master 2 blue and black bazel four years ago and now the price is approximately double of what I paid. Rolex is like an investment
Definitely an investment that will just kerp getting appraised because of the quality ;-; too bad I don't have the capability to get one yet. And it's pretty unfair that their female intended watches don't match up with the elegance of the male intended ones
Yeah. I think Cartier is leading the female watch industry because of its shiny designs. Rolex steel watches are becoming rare with time
Not a fan of cartier much. The designs are always way too plain or way too extravagant that it's basically a sign that it should be stolen when worn in public. They don't have moderately beautiful and simple designs yet. The steel they use is top class too so and really high in purity that if that doesn't get upraised in value, i don't know what will-
Yeah Rolex uses 904L steel, the same steel that is used in space ship components. I only love and follow watch brands that only make watches. Brands like Cartier, LV and others are more of fashion then quality
Never knew about that space craft component part. That's interesting and new to me π no wonder it's that sturdy. Agreed- which was why I was never into those brands. I was recently enticed by a chinese brand though. They made beautiful skeleton watches. I just forgot the brand name. Not sure about the quality of it though
Skeleton watches are also fascinating how they show the full mechanisms through the glass dial. The space component part was told to me by the saleslady at the Rolex store
Yes! That's why those kinds are my favorite. Simple yet very attractive to anybody who sees. How come nobody at a rolex store tells me stuff like that π
Hahaha. Yeah man. Rolex has class like no other.
My father had a seiko watch when he married in 1970s. The worth of that watch went way up in recent years. Unfortunately my mum didn't know about that and gave it to a maid, whos kids broke it and threw it away π
Heck- that's such a waste of a quality watch--- that could have been sold for such a high price by now if it was still in working condition ;-;
It was an automatic watch i guess. I've only seen it once and wanted to wear it on my wedding. Cant do anything about it now though
I would have kept that safe if i were your dad ;-; old watches are really priceless now, some even become heirlooms
He did, he still doesn't know that its gone. I once asked my mum to give it to me so that i can get it polished and all set up for my big day, thats when she told me that its gone
Such a shocking truth of what your mom did- oof i feel bad for that watch after having been taken care of so well ;-;
Well when i told her the worth of that watch, she did feel sad about it and by the time we got in touch with our ex maid, it was too late
Hmm.. such a pity indeed. I don't think I'd let anyone touch any of my precious watches if i owned those ;-; but oh well
Its nothing as compared to what happened with a friend of mine. You may know the price of bitcoin back in 2008/09. That was the time when he bought btc worth kf more that 100 usd, kept the key in his email and all and forgot about it. When BTC was touching 20k usd, he decided to sell it but the key was not there in his email anymore
Oof- that was such a huge wasteeeee. I can imagine his regrets in losing the key
I ike Tag heuer watches. For me they are very sophisticated yet modern at the same time. And comparing quality over price is also very good for those.
I live Tag heuer too. They are more closely related to sports events than any other luxury watch brand put there.
Yeah thats right may be thats why i like them more than any of these sophisticated watches
Yeah another good thing about them is that they have really good in house movements at relatively less prices than their competitors
Yeah thats true
Mine, swatch n had it before when i'm still studying
